When I put a magnet on a paperclip does the paperclip turn into a magnet?

I think the paperclip might turn into a magnet.

Experiment

ResultsI thought the paperclip might turn into a magnet. I was wrong. The paperclips could only stick together when they were touching a permanent magnet.

The magnetism moved through each paperclip to make them stick together. They were only temporary magnets.

What I learnedI learned that magnetism can move through something solid like a paperclip.

QuestionCan the magnet go through water?

ThinkingI dont think the magnet can work in water.
