Reader Profile• James is 17, he’s in sixth form and he’s in an Indie rock

band. He likes to perform at the local gigs in and around his local area. His favourite band is Arctic Monkeys and he’s been to see them no less than 4 times already. James doesn’t spend a lot of money on clothes or shoes, he’d much rather buy a new guitar than a new pair of Nike Airs, besides charity shops have much nicer clothes in his opinion. He has a large collection of Vinyl’s and CD’s from unheard of Indie Rockers, James is very much about listening to music the ‘proper’ way and he refuses to buy music off iTunes or any other digital streaming service.

Magazine Style

This is the colour scheme I have chosen to use for my magazine. It mixes dark reds with blacks and greys. I think this is a good colour scheme for my magazine as it draws in audiences with it’s stark red-on-black theme.

This is the font that I have chosen for my masthead. I think this font will make a good masthead because it’s quite creative and unique, it shows the audience that this really is an Indie Rock magazine, it gives off a ‘created by hand’ look that is often associated with the Indie culture.

This is the font I have chosen for my coverline, it has a Do-it-yourself look to it that fits well with the theme of my magazine and the audience reading it.

TextThis is the font I have chosen to use for the magazine articles. I knew I needed to choose an easy to read, basic font for the pages of the magazine because the text will be quite small and a more complex font may have been too difficult to read.
