• Digital identity is the data about a person, an institution, a brand that can be found online.

• A digital identity is organized into two parts:

- Who one is(identity).

- The credentials that everyone possesses (the attributes of

that identity).

During these years I have left some traces of myself on the net. Looking for “Andrea carlin” with the search engine Google, I didn’t found a lot of information about me, only my Google+ account on the second page of results.

web? My Facebook profile is the page that contains more informations about me and that represents me better. This page contains both formal and informal data

In all these sites I‘m registered with my real data. Some account are connected to each other, in this way the access is simplified. Thanks to privacy settings I can decide what kind of information to share. Only my friends and people I trust can see them.

For example, on Facebook I changed the privacy settings so that anyone who is not my friend can not see any important information about me. Among the friends I have only people that I know in real life. In general I use secure connections and different passwords for each account. The informations and photos that I upload on internet are essential, nothing that could create strange ideas about me.

How can I manage my web

reputation and my digital identity?

- Frequently change passwords for each account. - Use different strong password for each account. - Use nicknames. - Use “Google alerts” (www.google.it/alerts) to monitor your online identity. Just enter your name and your email address to receive an update every time you come nominated on the web. - Select people with whom share your data. - Use secure connections like “http”. - Upload on the internet only things that you are certain that they are safe in order to protect yourself and your family.
