NTTDoCoMoShowcasedAIforForecastingTaxiDemandinRealTimeBycombiningthehistoricaldataoftaxidemandwithlocationandexternaldata,suchaspopulationstaticsandweatherforecasts,NTTDoCoMo’sAIproductforecaststaxidemandinTokyo.TheprojectstartedinJune2016,andhasbeeninfieldtrialssinceDecember2016.TheAIcanpredicttaxidemandovera30-minuteperiodina500squaremeterareawithanaccuracythataveraged92.9%.NTTDoCoMoclaimsthereisa49%increaseinsalesperformancebetweenthosetaxisequippedwiththeforecastingtechnologyandthosewhichdonotmakeuseofit.

Samsung’sNexshopSolutionWesawdemosofSamsung’simpressivein-storeretailsolutionsuiteNexshop.Thecompanyhasdevelopedthreeapplications―NexshopSales,NexshopMarketingandNexshopTraining―whicharefocusedonimprovingin-storeperformancebyprovidingstoreassociatesamobilePOSsolution,amarketingtoolandatrainingappwithitsveryownAIlearningassistant.TheNexshopsolutionprovidesdetailedanalyticsonfootfalltogetherwithheat-mappingvisualizations,which,insomecases,canbebrokendowntotheproductlevel.
