Apregnant woman has three choices: abortion, adoption, or parenting her child. The relationshipsshe has when she comes to the Center will greatlyinuence her choices. Is the babys father supportiveor not? What will her friends tell her to do? Unlesswe build real relationships with these women, othervoices will speak fear and confusion into her situation, and our attempts at physical and spiritual rescue

    are compromised.

This past year, individuals with whom we hadpreviously formed relationships randomly reconnectedwith the ministr y. A former client called to say, Thank

you for being there for me 13 years ago by providingme with a shepherding home while I made an adoptionplan for my son. Another woman brought her daughterto us for help. This mother had been a client 19 yearsago and had chosen life over abortion for the youngwoman now standing before us.

More recently, a woman called looking for anabortion. She had no gas to get to work and nogroceries for her three children and was distraughtwith the thought of another child. After we providedher with gas and groceries, she said, I called lookingfor an abortion, and I found hope and friendshipinstead. At that particular moment in time, sheneeded relational ministry.

This year twenty-three women chose life over death fortheir babies, but fteen other women chose abortion. AsMWC enters its 22nd year of educating the communityabout life-afrming alternatives, we thank you for

providing the prayer, nances, practical and volunteersupport that undergirds this ministry. As you pagethrough this annual report, our prayer is that you willbe encouraged and inspired by the impact this critical, relational ministry is having for LIFE.

. . . choose life, that both you and your descendantsmay live. Deuteronomy 30:19

After my visit here, I felt a heavy load lifted off me.

Baby items I received by earning points were very helpful.

Colleen was honest with me, and even when we disagreed, she was polite.

Did not feel pressure to disclose certain information if I was not comfortable.

Emma offered information on all options and encouraged me to choose life.

Enjoyed Bible study about what God wants us to follow as Christians.

Felt able to talk freely, and I was not rushed through th e process.

I learned that I can handle my problems differently.

Learned about taking care of my unborn baby from the videos I watched.

Nancy gave me advice from the Bible; it denitely made me think.

Now I dont feel that Im alone in this crazy world and that there is hope.

Ofce was orderly, and very discreet; liked doing my own pregnancy test.

Really liked it when my advisor offered to pray with me .

Received more than what I expected, encouraging people.

Ronke listened to me, cared about me, and was not critical.

So relaxed and peaceful here; it took th e nervousness out of the experie nce.

Staff was considerate, cheerful, patient, and respectful; easy to open up to them.

Learned what God wants from me as His child; I plan to live for Him.Thank you for being here to help me in my crisis . . . for the helpful referrals.

The Center is close to home; respected my privacy; free and fast services.

The individual attenti on I received was great; I felt at home.

There should be more places like thi s; I felt the peace of God in the Center.

Tupee showed genuine interest and concern for my issues; very sincere.

    12/14

Metro Womens Center has received a large number of requestsfrom pregnant women seeking housing over the past 21 years.

Within 50 miles of MWC, there is only one small maternity homeequipped for pregnant women. The number of women needinghousing far exceeds that homes capacity. In response to th is greatneed, MWC began a capital campaign in 2003 to establish the

    Amazing Grace Home (AGH).

The Amazing Grace Home will minister to the needs of pregnantwomen by providing them with safe, Christ-centered housing. Thehome will provide each resident with basic needs such as food, shelter, discipleship, and life-skills training.

Each resident will be of fered opportunities to explore decision-making options in order to create a parenting or adoption plan forher child.

AGH will house women who are in their rst 20 weeks of apregnancy and are at least 18 years of age. A pregnant woman willbe considered for the program with the understanding that thehome uses Biblical principles as a guide for change. Each womansapplication will be considered on its own merit and reviewed by anapplication team prior to admittance.

    Our Two-Fold Goal

To raise a minimum of $400,000 by the end of 2012 in order toestablish the home.

To secure future funding for operating expenses of $75,000 annually.

Our hope is that Amazing Grace residents will learn to seethemselves through Gods eyes. This new vision, gained throughGods Word, will provide hope for those who were once withouthope. We believe it is through the power of Gods love, forgiveness, and restoration that true life changes can occur.
