3.- Summary by chapters

CHAPTER Nº 1This is a boat called Bounty which leads many people coming out in December 1787, will go in search tree fruit bread on the boat were 13 sailors, 11 official and the captain came to England where King Otoo that welcomed them where the boat captain gave some things to the king, after three months in March with a thousand breadfruit trees on the boat during that time the sailors celebrated but the captain was brave and speak to his sailors. April 4 the boat was full of people and food, no dancing or singing.

CHAPTER Nº 2It ship, which is small, is cramped even further when the captain turns the great cabin into a garden, forcing the men to live in an area that is incredibly small. One should always keep in mind that the mutiny is not caused by one single incident. The novel presents multiple reasons for the seizure of the ship.

The incident of the dead man being flogged emphasizes the severity of "sea law" — law so severe that it will later be directly related to the mutiny. The incident is so unnerving to young Byam that he loses his appetite, and yet the incident has no effect at all on the experienced captains, who, as we learn later, have extensive experience in meting out severe punishment.

In addition to the above event, this chapter emphasizes the severity, and the need, of "sea law." As we see later, this sea law allows the captain to be an absolute tyrant because the seamen have no recourse for redress.

CHAPTER Nº 3 Begins to plant the "seeds of discontent" that will later lead to the mutiny. We should always remember that there is not a single cause for the mutiny; instead, there is a multiplicity of causes that culminate in the mutiny. For example, at the first stop, Teneria, the crew's allotment of salt beef is replaced by fresh beef that is too foul to eat. A short time later, the crew discovers that Captain Bligh, in collusion with his clerk, Mr. Samuel, is deliberately withholding supplies from the crew in order to increase their own hoard. This is illustrated by the fifty pounds of cheese that Captain Bligh maintains was stolen. The members of the crew know that the cheese was taken to Bligh's home before the voyage began. This type of "smallness of mind" and "meanness" turn the men against Bligh

CHAPTER Nº 4 Is aptly titled "Tyranny" because it reveals Bligh to be a complete and irrational tyrant. From the very beginning of the voyage, Bligh can find nothing good to say about anyone on the ship. His neuroticism causes him to believe that the only way to control the men is by frequent threats of extreme punishment. He refuses even to consider Fletcher Christian's point of view that some Englishmen are best controlled by kindness.

CHAPTER Nº 5These chapters present an idyllic interlude on the beautiful South Sea island of Tahiti, often referred to both in the novel and in real life as a "paradise on earth." The contrast between the severity of the ship and the beautiful serenity of the island life will make the conditions aboard ship even more precipitous.

The acceptance of the men by the people of Tahiti lull the seamen into a life of peace and serenity, especially because most of the seamen are able to find a suitable woman to live with
