Websites

All free plugins can be downloaded from the

SecurityFor new installs of WordPress it is

essential that you take the necessary steps to secure your website from would

be intruders

I recommend either of these 2 WordPress security plugins:

Limit Login Attempts - By Johan EenFeldtProtects your website from hackers attempting to learn your password by brute-force attacks.

Captcha On Login – By Anderson MakiyamaThis plugin prevents automated hacking attempts on your login by requiring the user to type in a captcha code to complete the login.

Backup

Should something unfortunate happen, make sure you can recover easily by

having a secure backup of your website

For backups I recommend any of the plugins below. They can be tricky to install, especially for online backups, but well worth the effort if you ever find yourself in need of one:

BackWPup - This plugin can backup your entire WordPress site to Amazon S3, Dropbox, and FTP. Has all the feature you would expect in a backup plugin. Updraft Plus Backup/Restore – I’ve been using this on one of my sites for over 6 months, to backup my WP installation to my Google Drive. Again has all the major feature you would expect in a backup plugin.

Contact Form

New WP sites do not include any easy way for visitors to simply get in touch with you via email. Luckily this can be

remedied quite easily with a plugin

As far as contact forms go, there is only one plugin I recommend:

Contact Form 7- By Takayuki MiyoshiThis plugin is the de-facto contact form plugin, and has been download over 24 million times.

For me I found this to be versatile yet easy to use right out of the box.

SEOSearch engines can bring tons of traffic to your site, so it pays to make sure your blog content is correctly optimized to be

“search friendly”

There is only one plugin I recommend to use for SEO and that is:

WordPress SEO - By Team YoastThis plugin sets the bar for on page SEO. It makes it very easy to ensure every bit content on your site is optimized for search engines.

AnalyticsIn order to get the most from your efforts to generate views, you need to

know what is working to bring visitors to your site and where those visitors a

landing we they arrive

The plugin I use most frequently for my site analytics is:

Google Analytics Dashboard for WP - By AlinMarcuThis plugin makes it quite simple to see your site statistics at-a-glance.
