The initiative aims to bring together sounds and voices from all over the planet, which will be woven into a seven-minute musical piece and showcased at Expo 2020 Dubai in the UK Pavilion’s Choral Space. Whether your students would prefer to sing or play an instrument, hum or click their fingers, perform solo or with the entire school – all contributions are welcome. Participants simply need to record their part on a microphone or a mobile phone. Supporting its theme ‘Intelligence for Life’, the Spain Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai is welcoming schools from the UAE and across the globe to sign up for its World Online School Chess Tournament, with the final of the competition set to be hosted at Expo. This initiative aims to break down barriers through the common language of chess and promote the game as a powerful educational tool. Encourage your students to test their wits by playing the universal game, whose origins date back to the ninth century when the Arabs brought it to Spain. Enjoy a video chat with Santa Claus himself, thanks to a new competition launched by the Finland Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Children simply need to write a letter or create a video (60 seconds or less) and share their vision for a sustainable future while explaining how they will implement this wish in their home or school. Three winning schools will be selected from three different countries, and each will receive an exciting Zoom call with Santa at his home in Lapland! Submissions will also be showcased in December 2021 at Expo 2020 Dubai.
