Beth Melia Music Video Proposal and Treatment Song: Sweet Disposition Artist: The Temper Trap My target audience for this music video will be aimed at teenagers. My secondary audience will be to young adults. The video will be to the song Sweet Disposition by the Australian indie band The Temper Trap. The genre of the song is indie, it’s upbeat and fun. The lyrics are relatable to my target audience, and the feel of what I want my music video to feel like, with lyrics such as A moment of love, A dream, A laugh, A kiss, A cry, Our rights, Our wrongs”. As my target audience will be teenagers/young adults they can relate to this. The video type will be a concept video based on the lives of teenagers of normal teenagers in today’s society. I want it to show the ups and downs of being a teenager and growing up; I want it to focus on the normal things of real life, with real footage (and rehearsed shots when needed). I think this will appeal to target audience because they will be able to relate to it. Guild lines and Considerations 1) It is a concept video. 2) There’s no story to it. 3) It’s purely based on “random footage” of daily lives. 4) It is supposed to look cheaply made, keeping with a ‘student’ feel. 5) Extras used will be anyone willing to be in the video at home/college/work. 6) Will be shot indoors and outdoors. 7) Lighting should be kept high key. 8) Within editing a few filters will be used for example, Black and white or sepia Here are a few examples of the ideas I’m trying to get across Music Videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGuau204JZY – King Charles- Ivory Road.
