Introduction• Unlike the traditional tribal settlement, modern society typically requires us to live

in urban settings with thousands of others who are unknown to us. However, we have not lost our basic human need for social bonds and affiliations which allow us to define ourselves and to understand who we are. Like our tribal ancestors, we all need a peer group that defines our age set and its role in the wider community. We look for ways of marking our transition from one age set to another, particularly from the status of a child to that of an adult. To do this, we need a well-defined social identity before we can hope to achieve a true sense of personal identity.

• Being part of a tribe allows people social inclusion and a means of identifying themselves alongside those whom they look up to or aspire to emulate. It provides a social arena in which they can act out prescribed roles, adopting the appearance or style that serves as a representation of their allegiances. Modern tribes tend to select themselves by their cultural tastes and lifestyle choices. The mass media has given modern day communities a common context and language which can be used to determine today’s teenagers’ choice of tribe.

Emo’s When a person is in a music tribe such as the Emotional Rockers A.K.A emotionally disturbed people (EMOS) they feel the need to fit in. From analysis of all of all of the Emo’s in years 10 and 11 in the school I noticed that...- At one point or another they were bullied in the early years of secondary school or in the late years of primary school.- They have not recovered since causing them to become outsiders. -Most are quiet and keep themselves to themselves or when slightly provoked they storm out, start crying or become aggressive . -Certain Emo’s crave attention, but they then pushes away which is weird.-They repeatedly whine about little meaningless things-Self-destructive, for attention-getting purposes most Emo's slit their wrists.-When a person becomes like I becomes curious about their frame of mind and about their past Emo’s fabricate a worse past than they have had, so that I and others become more sympathetic.-They do morbid things, possibly for attention.

Emo’s continuedEmo's feel the need to fit so they join up with other people and as most rock songs about emotions and anger ect they can associate themselves with that genre and that's how the Emo’s came around. Well it may not be fully true but that's my theory. Some people become Emo's because they are lonely with the internet and Facebook they can create a virtual world that means they can never be alone.

The Emo music tribe romanticises death. Emo's reject God and the beliefs of religion and they believe that they go to a place called the black parade instead of heaven when they die. Emo’s role models in music are people such as band; “My Chemical Romance who revealed that they are Emo’s through the song “welcome to Black Parade ”There is a very dark side to being an Emo, which is about dressing in black and listening to music with very deep lyrics. Most Emo’s like to express their feeling writing poems about their problems with depression, confusion, and anger; all because the world fails to understand them.

Emo fashion

Emo’s dress in very dark clothing consisting of hoodies, band t- shirts skinny jeans and converse all-stars or similar shoes such as Van’s. Also Emo’s tend to dye their hair black with steaks of bright and or fluorescent colour

Whilst originally rooted in black music and style culture, the Gangsta tribe’s streetwise style is aspirational for white, black and Asian young people. Gangsta characteristics are more about attitude and swagger and not to be confused with criminal behaviour. The gangsta characteristics are to do what one feels like this may e be in a form of expressing their feelings through music. People in the gangsta music tribe aspire to becoming successful and success in the gangsta tribe is success l measured in money, cars, girls and real estate.
