The RIVERSIDE CHOIR, SOLOISTS, & ORCHESTRABrahms RequiemOn Mother’s Day, The Riverside Choir offers A German Requiem – one of the great masterworks of
the choral and orchestral literature – initially composed as a response to the death of his dear friend, the composer Robert Schumann. Brahms’ universal message of solace, comfort and hope, composed as a personal musical memorial dedicated to his mother, uses biblical texts different from those found in the traditional Latin Requiem.$25/$20. The ANNUAL RIVERSIDE CHURCH CANDLELIGHT CAROL FESTIVALThis longstanding tradition at The Riverside Church has become an essential part of Christmas in New York City. This service of music and light combines carillon, organ, harp, and all of the choirs of The Riverside Church, culminating in a ritual sharing of candlelight illuminating the Nave. Virtuoso GuitarRenowned guitarist Francisco Roldán performs an inspiring program of diverse music showcasing rhythms and melodies from J. S. Bach to Andrés Segovia and the gorgeous Latin flavors of Barrios.
Pennies from HeavenCelebrate the Great American Songbook with soprano Tammy Mesic and jazz pianist Matt King as they team up for solos and duets of American classics and show tunes from the 1920’s to today.
Four Hand Band An entertaining tag team piano-four hand duo, Sasha Papernik and Alexander Wu perform a crossover range of music from Broadway and Classical to Jazz and Tango.
