1990’s music was mostly about based on pop culture. Most of the music around was girl bands or boy bands and it was a strong competition to be the best.

Technology was also very different being in the form of a cassette where you would have to fast forward the tape to listen to the next song, then coming in a form on a CD where you were able to skip to the next song if you wanted to.

Walkman CD players were the latest range where you could listen to your music wherever you were, however it was very big to carry around and you would have to carry around all of your CD’s.

The 1990’s was more about the pop and punk culture so boy and girl bands were extremely popular back then. Now, there are loads of different genres of music that you can listen to and different genres of music such as indie, light metal and blue’s rock. Music is also now based on everything from culture to religion and past experiences and are now set up to send a message towards the audience. While music in later years was set to be clean, music now can contain heavy use of swearing and have any theme that may be frowned upon.
