Masthead: the function of the masthead is to promote the magazine company on give a brand identity. The results in the magazine being aimed at specific target audience. The masthead is usually found at the top of the magazine and it stands out due to the big fonts sizes.
The use of colouring also draws the buyers attention to the writings on the side of the page that are deliberately put there to promote the magazine. The writings on the side of the artist make it sound like if they buy this magazine it would benefit them ‘job enrollment for you’. Furthermore, it makes the magazine look interesting.
Central image: there is one main model who is a artist that makes grime music. He covers most of the front cover and therefore this promotes the artist. This results in people that like this artist to buy the magazine. Therefore the artist is used to increase profit and promote the magazine.
The gaze: the artist is looking at eye level to the camera. This creates an effect of the artist looking at the buyer and therefore suggesting that you will know everything about this artist if they buy this magazine
The fact that the price is on top of the barcode and in red makes it stand out. The price being in red also makes it look cheap and therefore people would buy it. The barcode and price is based at the bottom left corner of the magazine and this is so it is easy to find by the buyers.
There is also a web address next to the masthead and this promotes the magazine and is a method used to make the magazine company popular.
