Orchestra Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced

Assignment 1: Type in the following URL http://teachingstrings.online/ then click tutorials. We will be using the links that say “Use on the web” for this assignment click the first one for your instrument (BE SURE TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT INSTRUMENT!) Basic Finger Patterns.

1. Make sure your volume is up 2. At the bottom of the screen click the green box that says

“Next” 3. Listen to the intro and then click review 4. Listen to the explanations of each finger pattern 5. STOP HERE and do not do the exercise yet.

Assignment instructions: If you have your instrument, follow the instructions below on your instrument. If you do not have your instrument, use your forearm; a pencil; and a ruler to complete. Go back to the website and complete the exercise: Start by clicking “Next” at the bottom of the screen to see example 1, look at the notes in the passage and determine which finger pattern would be used. Complete all 6 examples. Assignment 2: Complete the worksheet (located in google classroom) titled “Half steps_whole steps finger pattern.” Once completed upload your completed assignments to google classroom.
