From the Director It seems every facet of the world we know has been affected by the recent downturn in

the economy. As the markets reel and arts funding declines one would think interest in live theatre would be waning both for the audiences and the artists. Having recently appeared in two sellout shows at The Encore in Dexter, purchased tickets to an almost sold out Billy Elliott on Broadway and held auditions for this show, I am pleased to say that is not the case.

The abundance of talent that auditioned for Kiss Me, Kate was astonishing. These unpaid artists, as well as the stellar production staff I assembled have made it clear to me: what we do matters, what we do is important and what we do will endure. The personal sacrifices all have made to see this project through awe and inspire me.

Kiss Me, Kate has enthralled and entertained audiences and performers for more than sixty years. Just as it gave laughs and comfort to post WWII Broadway, it continues to do so for communities dealing with their own set of challenges today. Your support of this little gem of a musical, in these difficult economic times, is most appreciated. It is you, the audience, which helps put the proper value on our work. So thank you for coming out to the show. Thank you for supporting A2CT and our efforts. And thank you for validating that what we do matters and will endure.

Sincerely-
