PODCASTING

Producing episodes about audio recording technology in on course:

Page 17: Music And Arts E Learning

• Learning by producing the podcast

• High motivation to make episodes individually and originally

• Learning by listening to other episodes

• Broadcasted and published periodically

• Learning with mobile devices

• Comments are supporting social learning within the group

Music and Arts E-Learning

Advantages PODCASTING

Page 18: Music And Arts E Learning

• Within LOUDBLOG we had to create each account manually (no LDAP support)

• In the beginning it took too much time to record, mix and arrange

• Some of the students had to arrange and mix at home, recording and mastering was done in the university audio studio

• Foreign students very often have problems with our language, so it was also difficult for them to record their voice in our language

interactive scores

Page 20: Music And Arts E Learning

• space and time

• individual learning tempo

• motivation

• different and interactive trainings(key, tempo, loops, recordings, …)

• less to do for the teacher

Music and Arts E-Learning

Advantages interactive scores

Page 21: Music And Arts E Learning

• depends on the hardware

• computers do not work at any time(power, network, file structure, …)

• rights management (for installing flash or shockwave player, …)

• time to prepare e-learning scenarios

Music and Arts E-Learning

Disadvantages interactive scores

Page 22: Music And Arts E Learning

• User accounts via novell e-directory

• Better integration of multimedia content via plugins

• Very common system for building web 2.0 content
