In celebration of World Wildlife Day, come learn about the amazing animals that inhabit North America and the habitats that they call home, Hands-on activities will provide students with the opportunity to explore animal adaptations, compare animals features and learn about relationships between organisms and their environments.
School Group Drop In Day: North American Mammals
In celebration of National Fossil Day, this special event will help students understand how studying fossils teaches us about the history of life, past climates, and ancient landscapes. Activities explore fossil formation, extinction theories, fossil diversity and much more.
School Group Drop In Day: Fossils
In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, join us to learn about the cultures and traditions of Native Americans from the Woodlands of Eastern North America. Students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of stations that showcase life from the early 17th to 20th century and make connections to present day.

The Gottesman Center for Science Teaching and Learning is excited to offer a series of free, hands-on events for K-12 school groups on a variety of topics. Make the most of your field trip by participating in these events which will allow students the opportunity to engage in hands-on investigations, specimen and artifact observations, interactive stations and much more while exploring the Museum's world-renowned scientific and cultural collections and exhibition halls.

School Group Drop In Day: Planet Earth Thursday, April 23, 2020 10:00am-12:00pm; Gottesman Hall of Planet Earth In celebration of Earth Day, this special event engages students in exploring the Museum’s outstanding collection of geological specimens from around the world. Activities will help students discover how our planet works, peer into its depths, and understand the scientific methods used to study it.

How to Register *Admission to School Group Drop-In Events is included in general Museum admission.
Admission to the Museum and special exhibits is free for New York City schools, however reservations are required. To book your field trip call 212-769-5200 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m, Monday-Friday.
