About me...• My name is Tonia and I am from Athens, Greece.• I moved to Copenhagen in April 2016 to create a new life with my Danish

boyfriend.• I have studied & worked in 5 different countries/ cultures (incl. Denmark).• My first degree was in Fine Arts and History of Art, while during my

Master’s degree I studied the Cultural & Creative Industries, including museums.

• My thesis was focused on visitor studies & research and development for cultural and museum audiences.

• The following is a personal selection of museums and exhibitions that I already have or that I am planning to visit in and around Copenhagen.

Definition of Museum“The word "museum" comes from the Greek work "mouseion" which means seat of the Muses. In Greek mythology, the Muses are a collection of sister

deities who provide inspiration to patrons of the arts and sciences.”*

• "The Muses were the Greek goddesses of inspiration in literature, science and the arts. They were the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne (the personification of memory), and they were also considered water nymphs. Some scholars believed that the Muses were primordial goddesses, daughters of the Titans Uranus and Gaea. Personifications of knowledge and art, some of the arts of the Muses included Music, Science, Geography, Mathematics, Art, and Drama. They were usually invoked at the beginning of various lyrical poems, such as in the Homeric epics; this happened so that the Muses give inspiration or speak through the poet's words.”**
