Museum Association «Moscow City Museum» Moscow City Museum is one of the oldest culture institutions of Moscow, being founded in 1896, as initiated by the City Duma. The Museum holds a supremely rich collection of artifacts that
can tell you about the history of Moscow lands. The wide
variety of the ancient cultures is well represented. Currently,

- vast archeological pieces
- graphical arts items ( series of paintings «Old Moscow» by
A. Vasnetsov, works of I. Aivazovsky, V. Makovsky, V. Polenov,
V. Surikov, L. Pasternak, V. Nesterov, R. Falk and oters)
- oldmaps
- models of urban houses, clothes and furniture
-sculpture reproductions of urban people from different
centuries
- Models of the city
Archives of city and state organizations, collections of Moscow
guide and reference books, historical documents, photos, rare
manuscripts, posters and advertising bills are of particular
interest. The material sources stock gives an idea about the
local lore and life of the Muscovites during the entire history of
the city.

of the city of the city, collection exhibitions from the museum
stocks, makes regional and international projects, holds
