  • The Details Your Itinerary

Please Note: Itinerary may endure changes due to weather, Ocean conditions and Seasonal demands on Accommodation.

Optional Airport Pickup. Travellers will be met by a Region X staff at the Canberra International Airport (Tour starts on Sundays from February - June) You will be transferred via comfortable air conditioned transport to Murramarang National Park. The road journey includes a few stops to check out the local sites and grab some lunch. The area surrounding Canberra has a rich Pastoral Settlement history before the Great Dividing Range - Australia’s Longest mountain range steeply falls away to the East Coast. The temperate forest here showcases various waterways prior to arrival in Batemans Bay, a historic timber village now a popular seaside holiday destination. Here you will meet the rest of the guide team and be settled into your Cabin accommodation in the heart of Murramarang National Park just north of Batemans Bay, a great base to explore from. While lazy Eastern Grey Kangaroos sleep on your lawn, settle in and enjoy a beach walk to stretch your legs before your evening meal. (Not included in Tour Price)

Day 1 - Cycling. Wake to the sounds of Bowerbirds, Kookaburras and King Parrots as your guides serve breakfast and prepare lunch for your cycle trip. Enjoy a short vehicle shuttle to the south end of the Park for an easy cycle through Spotted Gum Eucalypts, ancient Cycads and enjoy frequent rest stops to admire the views over the ocean. The Cycling is relatively easy as we follow fire trails and often stop to walk and discover sandstone colours in the cliffs at each very different beach! Arriving at North Head the southernmost tip of Murramarang we find the areas best rock pools and take a dip before enjoying lunch. After lunch choose to continue cycling or grab the vehicle transfer back to your cabin. In the evening enjoy the possibility of an impromptu snorkel session to collect Abalone or Lobster or simply enjoy a relaxed afternoon. Included: Breakfast, morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea.

Day 2 - Sea Kayaking. The best part about sea kayaking is getting to remote locations and thats what we do! The most inaccessible stretch of the park lies north of your cabins and offers the best sea kayaking opportunities. We use double expedition style sea kayaks and load up our lunch and swimmers for a day

out exploring isolated beaches and islands. If you lucky spot dolphins and whales and put up the sails for an afternoon sail back to camp. In the evening take a guided spotlight walk to find Possums and Powerful Owls. Included: Breakfast, morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner.

Day 3 - Hiking. With various options for hiking within the park your spoilt for choice! Amazing sandstone summits for views or leisurely coastal trails to beaches, your guides will discuss the options and preferences for the group, either way you will continue to discover and fall in love with the area. Included: Breakfast, morning Tea, Lunch.

Day 4 Options - Airport Drop off or continued adventures. Extend Your stay and enjoy a leisurely breakfast and slow pack up, say goodbye to the local kangaroos and your new friends! While many people continue their Australian adventures south to Melbourne or north to Sydney, those travelling back to Canberra will be transferred to the Airport in our vehicle. What is a National Park? “(1) A national park is a relatively large area, where one or several ecosystems are not materially altered by human exploitation and occupation, where plant and animal species, geomorphological sites and habitats are of special scientific, educative and recreative interest or which contains a natural landscape of great beauty; and (2) where the highest competent authority of the country has taken steps to prevent or to eliminate as soon as possible exploitation or occupation in the whole area and to enforce effectively the respect of ecological, geomorphological and aesthetic features which have led to its establishment; and (3) where visitors are allowed to enter, under special conditions, for inspirational, educative, cultural and recreative purposes”.

National parks are a part of the regional pattern of land use. The management of a national park aims to minimise disturbance to natural and cultural resources. Other land uses (e.g. agriculture, forestry and mining) are distinguished by an acceptance or encouragement of environmental modification. National parks, therefore, provide for only a limited part of the range of land uses in any region.

Murramarang National Park Facts This is a great place to spend a few days or a week ! What better way of travelling than by your own paddle, pedal power and your own legs! Region X takes great care of the environment we visit and carry out all our waste that we take on trips. We keep groups small to not impact the environment and to give you the chance to chat with all the interesting people on your trip. For more information about Region X environmental policy, please refer to our website. Spanning 44km of dramatic coastline, Murramarang National Park is the ultimate spot to soak up some sun and explore the cliffs, headlands and pristine beaches of the NSW south coast. Be sure to pack your swimmers to hit the surf, your binoculars to spot peregrine falcons and sea eagles that soar high above the cliffs and even try to catch your dinner. This is one of the rare spots in Australia where the spotted gums grow right down to the ocean, offering plenty of shade in the warmer months and a stunning backdrop for a nature escape all year round.
