CBS 6.0 is a multi plane, multi speed, computer-aided balancing platform. This platform utilizesthe most advanced flexible-rotor balancingtechniques including the biasing coefficients tominimize vibration at certain planes and/orspeeds. It can be integrated with a range ofinterfacing devices including IDAC-3, IDAC-4 andProLAB-300. Furthermore, the platform can beused with a third-party interfacing device usingdata importers and generic data acquisition andanalog setting commands. Featuring the multi

analog setting commands. Featuring the multiplane influence coefficients method and directdetection method, the system can be used toupgrade and modernize already exist dynamicbalancing machines and also to produce newhigh precision machines. This system adds veryimportant features such as high accuracy, automatic scaling, stability, high dynamic range, data presentation, data saving, reporting, plotting, easiness of use and many other featuresdelivered by the powerful and reliable software.
Provision to combine multiple readings and splitting the correction masses in the case of fragmented correction planes.
Automatic detection of allowable residual unbalance for different types of rotors.
Rotors data can be saved and recalled later for reporting and printing.
Balancing speed up to 120,000 RPM can be achieved.
Reliable SQL database structure.
Flexible Rotor Balancing is one ofthe challenges in the industry. CBS6.0 not only do multi planebalancing for these rotors but alsopermits multi speed balancing whenthe number of measuring planes isless than the number of correctionplanes or when it is required tominimize unbalance effect over arange of speed. Moreover, significance or biasing coefficientscan be applied to minimize vibrationat certain planes or speeds. Normalworkshop balancing machines canbe upgraded and used for multiplane balancing using laser or non-contact displacement sensors tomeasure vibration at differentplanes. Both soft and hard bearingsbalancing machines can used.
CBS 6.0 Software runs under Microsoft Windowsoperating system and it is easy to use. It haspowerful data management scheme to definerotors, groups of rotors, and their relatedspecifications. In addition to the customized rotorswhere the measuring and correction planes can beadded freely, there are a number of predefinedrotors for single and dual-plane balancing. Thepermissible unbalance is detected automatically interms of direct masses or equivalent static andcouple unbalance. Single plane or two planebalancing can be selected for any configuration.

Reports and Balancing Certificate can easily beobtained for any reading by simple few clicks. Theinitial and residual unbalance readings can beselected from the available readings. The reportsheaders can be selected as textual or graphical. Also, the reports can be saved and restored later. This is in addition to many other display options, management tools and utilities such as flexible-jointeffect detection and elimination, equivalent staticand couple determination, keyways effectelimination, vector calculator, diagnosis andcalibration utility and other tools.
The Monitoring Window provides conveniently polarplot display the unbalance as yellow dot with valuerepresented by the distance from the center and angleshifted by the unbalance angle from a reference axis. The permissible range is displayed as green-shadedarea and the user can easily judge if the residualunbalance is acceptable or not. The user can selectbetween mass addition or removal for each correctionplane individually. There is a stability indicator toindicate whether the current measurement is stable ornot. Also, the equivalent static unbalance and couplenot. Also, the equivalent static unbalance and coupleunbalance for two-planes rotors are also displayed inthis window. The keyways effect and joint effects canbe compensated for by checking the correspondingcheckbox.

Balancing Machine CalibrationProcedure can be used to calibratethe hard-bearing or force measuringmachines. This procedure isimportant to compensate for anyamplitude scaling and/or phaseshift produced by the supports andthe electronic instrumentation. Theprocedure can be repeated atdifferent speeds to suit varioustypes of rotors that are balanced atdifferent speeds. Moreover, planesequalization can be used to ensureequaled vibration response at theseplanes and eliminate and differencethat may cause error. All calibrationprocedures are stored permanentlyin the system database and can berecalled at any time.
Joint Effect is introduced by the end-drive couplingmechanism and it can be significant sometimes. This effect can easily detected by flipping the rotorat 180 and repeating the test. The differencerepresents the joint or tooling effect. This effect canbe stored as a reading in the database and can beused later for compensation. Any reading can be

Influence Coefficients Method is the most accuratemethod used for rotor balancing whether thebalancing is of single, dual or multiple planes. Thenumber of balancing planes is virtually unlimited inthe CBS 6.0 platform, but practically each balancingplane require a trial run and an additional measuringplane or alternatively balancing speed. When differenttypes of sensors are used or when different stiffnessesare defined at individual measuring planes, biasingcoefficients can be used to re-distribute the unbalanceeffect evenly.

used later for compensation. Any reading can becompensated for the joint effect as well as keywayseffect. Moreover, these effect can be eliminatedduring online tests through the monitoring window.
Signal Diagnostic Tool can be used to investigatedata acquisition device malfunctions. The signalsfrom all of the analog input channels as well as thereference signal can be captured and displayed inthe diagnosis tool. The analog amplifiers, filters andintegrators can be investigated through this tool. This tool is also useful to perform system calibrationto detect the sensors sensitivities.
