EXCURSIONS AND TRANSFER SERVICES

• Transfer and Guided Tour to the White Sand DunesTwenty-�ve kilometres north of the Pandanus Resort, the White Sand Dunes aka Bau Trang (White Lake), is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the Phan Thiet area. The contrast between the deep blue lake, the green lotus along the shore, and the enormous white dunes provide many splendid photographic opportunities. Vendors near the entrance o�er quad bikes and dune buggies for rent to ride around the dunes, young people use plastic sleds to slide down the dunes, and at the entrance, there is a compound of ostriches to ride.

• Transfer and Guided Tour to visit the largest reclining Buddha in Southeast Asia at Ta Cu Mountain and then to the Dragon Fruit Garden. Located 30 minutes west of Phan Thiet city centre, Ta Cu Mountain is the site of the largest reclining Buddha in Southeast Asia. One can either walk up the mountain or ride the gondola from the valley floor. But even those who opt for the Austrian-made gondola will get a little exercise, as the Buddha is another 300 steps from the terminal. The views from the top of the mountain are spectacular and there is a restaurant overlooking the rice �elds and dragon fruit farms below. On a clear day, one can almost see Ho Chi Minh City in the distance.Besides fish sauce, Phan Thiet is famous for dragon fruit, which thrives in the area’s hot and relatively dry climate. On the way back to Pandanus Resort, a stop will be made at a local garden to learn more about the process of farming this unique fruit and, of course, samples of the succulent fruit are o�ered to all the visitors.

• Walking Tour of Mui Ne:The residents of Mui Ne wake up at sunrise to meet the �shing boats as they return from a night of �shing. The families of the �shermen separate the �sh that are brought ashore and take the fresh catch either up to the market to sell or to send to the fish sauce factories. Join our complimentary daily walking tour to see all this activity. The tour begins at the water’s edge, followed by a walk through the town to the market. Tours depart the Pandanus Resort by minivan at 06:30 and return at 08:00 every morning. Reservations are required.

• Phan Rang Tour - A day in Panduranga:Phan Rang – Tháp Chàm in Ninh Thuan Province is located about 350 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City and just over 120 kilometers from Pandanus Resort, Mui Ne. It was the old Panduranga, when the Viet annexed the �nal Cham political capital, the name of the principal city was changed to Phan Rang-Thap Cham. Their “towers” (“Thap”) are beautiful memorials to their kings and queens. Although most of the towers between Da Nang and Phan Thiet are in ruin, there are two sites in Phan Rang-Thap Cham that are maintained and culturally active. The towers are currently still in use for many of the colorful Cham festivals and celebrations.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

Duc Thanh Museum in Phan Thiet city center was previously a school where Nguyen Tat Thanh, later known as Ho Chi Minh, taught in 1910 prior to going to France for his extended studies. It is now a museum exhibiting Ho Chi Minh memorabilia.

Ke Ga Lighthouse is located about an hour's drive southwest of the Pandanus Resort. The tallest (65 m) and oldest lighthouse in Southeast Asia was built by the French in 1897/98 on a small island some 300 metres o� the coast and is accessible by foot during low tide. Otherwise, small boats are often on hand to make the short trip.

The Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien) traverses a small canyon that has been created over the centuries by a stream that cuts through bamboo groves, boulders and the multi-colored dunes. Visitors take o� their shoes and trek through the mostly ankle-deep water of the stream while taking pictures of the surreal-shaped colorful canyon walls.

The Fishermen Show is a Hollywood-style culture and water dance show presented inside a large theatre in Phu Hai ward built in 2016 specifically for this presentation.

The RD Wine Castle was built to resemble some of the castle-shaped wineries in California's Napa Valley. The owner of the winery owns a separate winery in Napa and the wines that are bottled on site are shipped from the Napa Valley in bulk.

The Red Canyon (Khu Da Ngoai) is located just beyond the Red Sand Dunes. It is a small canyon that has been created by the wind and the rain at the bottom of the dunes. The walls of the canyon are bright orange and their shape looks rather surreal.

The Red Sand Dunes (Doi Cat) are located adjacent to the Pandanus Resort and cover an area of about 50 hectares. They are the smaller of the two Phan Thiet area sand dunes. A visit to the Red Sand Dunes is most popular at sunset, as people gather to watch the sun setting into the ocean from the top of the sand hills. Don't forget to bring water!

The Viet Sand Art Exhibition is the newest attraction in the Phan Thiet area. The works of sand art and sculptures have been created by a group of local sand sculpting artists. It is located opposite the university Campus in Phu Hai ward.
