a smartphone is a mobile device designed to make phonecalls but has advanced functional capabilities similar to those of a computer such as a web browser document editing software.

I agree smartphones have affected usbut how?_Social collaboration.

Smartphones have been instrumental with their diverse,fast,efficient applications for globally connecting people mainly for social networking & they can be considered as a basic need as social intergation is the foundation that paves way for a broader horizon for opprtunities in every criteria.

They have exposed people to opportunities but in the same respect have managed to personalise access to a variety of social threats like,pornograhy,mollestation & can even aid in suicidal attempts.

Let us acknowledge the freedom of choice where mankind is allowed to decide how to use his or her smartphone to his or her best interest.Either way we affected socially by this species of technology.

Smartphones can work as reminders,directories,diaries and keeps your work updated.

Company information access:

It can be a secure access to your company`s networking services anywhere because of portability,productivity is gauranteed anywhere translated in a more relaxed & efficient format.

However such devices have managed to reduce the workload practically to an “informal” society,people are becoming too relaxed,lazy and practically weak for some tasks

Smartphones have played a major role with students being able to have global access to information via the internet on their phones,it is fast & location is not a restriction.

Students have access to interactive courses or lectures with graphics,videos,images.These improve understanding.

Information can be shared between teachers and students at any location meaning the risk of being

late or backdated is reduced.

Morgan Stanely estimates smartphone sales will overtake PC salles in 2012.

Anonymous company expect s US sales to rise from 65 million to 95 million in 2011 and become the highest consumer mobile device.

The research clearly reflects the continuous acceleration of the smartphone market 7 the how growth is anticipated with time,therefore we cannot deny that we have we being attached to this useful device.

Smartphones are small computers,you have P.C. functions all in a handheld gadget,ways are being discovered to improve teaching and learning with these gadets.

How Professors & college officers are making use of the mobile devices

Taking attendance Collecting data Reading scholarly articles Recording notes Lecture planning

Therefore students are not the only beneficiaries of this device,we can see how the smartphone can be incorporated in any occupation and increase productivity all the same.

Conclusions

To conclude I agree smartphones have infiltrated todays society and affected us positively in terms of productivity,comunication in the workplace,social engagement and education.
