Hello everyone – and welcome back to another school year!! To start this year off right, be sure to attend the MTEEA Fall Conference held annually in St. Cloud on the last full weekend of September. This years dates are Friday, September 25th and Saturday the 26 th . Each fall conference offers something new, and this year you will notice that we are moving our Saturday morning sessions to the facilities at St. Cloud State University. MTEEA has always had a great relationship with SCSU, and that partnership is allow- ing us to share their Tech Ed and Engineering labs for part of our conference. We will now be able to offer sessions on Saturday morning with real equipment and hands-on opportunities. In addition it will help us keep the conference costs from rising. As always, there will be tours, two days of special interest sessions, the best vendor display in the state, an Awards Banquet that recognizes the top Technology and Engi- neering teachers in MN, and of course, networking with teachers from around the state. We hope to see you there!! Questions? Call Mike Lindstrom, Fall Conference Program Chair at 612-209-1739. This year is no exception. The following companies are opening their doors to a limited number of tour participants on Friday morning: Geringhoff Manufacturing ~ 8:30 - 10:30 AM National Guard Helicopter Division ~ 9:30 - 11:30 AM Geringhoff Manufacturing:

Geringhoff has been manufacturing the industry's leading harvest equipment since 1880.

We strive to create and deliver the ultimate harvest experience, and make harvesting easi-

Reliability, performance, and industry leading quality. That is what we stand behind, and as

a result the top corn growers in North America are choosing to stand with us. Combines

and farming practices are becoming bigger and more elaborate and farmers are demanding

the correct equipment to match their operations.

We are proud to offer the finest corn harvesting headers in the industry; sleek powerful ma-

chines unsurpassed by anything else in the industry. In September 2012, we announced

the location of our brand new American Manufacturing facility in St. Cloud MN.

2015 ITEEA Conference

The 2015 ITEEA Conference was held in Milwaukee, Wi this past March. A number of Minne-

sota teachers and MTEEA leadership attend this excellent conference. The ITEEA Conference

is a Thursday to Saturday Conference.

Each day starts with a general session honoring different award winners. Following these

general sessions there are over 20 concurrent breakout sessions running each hour from

10:00 to 5:00. There are tour opportunities, and a chance for networking every evening.

Each year the group from Minnesota gets together for a “Minnesota Dinner”.

The 2016 Conference will be held March 2-4 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention

Center, National Harbor, Washington DC. The 2016 theme is “COLLABORATING TO BUILD A

DIVERSE STEM-LITERATE SOCIETY”

Why attend the ITEEA Conference

ITEEA – Building Your Network

As we begin a new school year and prepare to teach our students we often look at ways to

improve upon the curriculum and materials that we use in our classrooms. The International

Technology and Engineering Educators Association is a great source to find valuable infor-

mation. But another great membership benefit of ITEEA is the networking! Over the years I

have come to rely heavily on the experts in our field, fellow technology /engineering educa-

tors, for learning about the latest technologies, materials, curriculum, and teaching tech-

niques. Through our state organization, MTEEA, we build a state wide network that we can

access. With ITEEA we can build a worldwide network! Over the years I have made connec-

tions with fellow teachers from Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Utah, and Texas to name a few.

What a great way to learn what is happening across our country in the field of technology /

engineering education!

As a new year begins I encourage you to build your network through ITEEA. We can make it

easy for you to join ITEEA with a unified membership of MTEEA and ITEEA with a special sav-

ings. For membership information and forms check out the website at:
