The Institute of Systems Science (ISS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) has delivered graduateprogrammes to over 4,500 students since 1981 which focus on the practical aspects of informationtechnology (IT) and data science. The NUS-ISS Master of Technology (MTech) programme offers degrees inSoftware Engineering (SE), Knowledge Engineering (KE), Enterprise Business Analytics (EBAC) and ITLeadership (ITL). More information on the MTech IT Leadership programme can be found on the back page.

These masters degrees emphasise state-of-the-practice techniques, tools and technology and internationallyrecognised methodologies. In addition to full-time study, they provide IT, science and engineeringprofessionals the opportunity to upgrade their skills by studying part-time while pursuing their careers.

Our staff are professionalswho have worked for many years in the industry, andwill share their highly relevant real workingexperiences with you. All students are required toundertake an industry project or internship to gainfurther insights into the realities and challenges of the

local industry and to increase exposure tocontemporary and advanced projects.

An additional way for our students to test andapply what they have learnt in class is throughhackathons. We work closely with industryplayers to offer students the opportunity towork with real business data and solve realbusiness challenges for organisations.

As the practical real world application of the knowledge and skills learnt is a key feature of the MTech programme, ourstudents are expected to undertake and pass a team-based project (which can be conducted as an internship), which usuallyinvolves system development and/or problem solving for a sponsoring organisation (which, or part-time students, is often

the employer of one or more team members).

The project work will also help you gain deeper insights into the subjects you have studied and develop realisticexpectations for your future career.
