Audience

15  to  22+  year  old  students  at  the  following  levels:

• High  School  with  a  technology  curriculum  • Higher  Ed.  technology  ins1tu1ons  and  community  colleges

The  following  gaps  make  the  leap  into  MCTS  difficult  for  these  students:

•  They  may  not  have  the  technical  skills  and  knowledge  to  successfully  pursue  an  MCTS.

•  The  overall  investment  (training  +  exams)  is  more  than  what  they  can  afford.

• MCTS  requires  a  career  path  commitment  that  most  students  do  not  have  at  an  early  stage.

•  The  nearest  tes1ng  center  may  be  far  away  from  their  school.

These  gaps  are  even  bigger  for  students  in  emerging  markets.

Typical  Student  Profiles

•  Overview  –  Audience  Informa1on

Vidya  is  from  a  typical  middle  class  family  in  Mumbai.  Even  though  she  never  felt  a  passion  for  technology,  she  chose  IT  for  the  job  opportuni1es.  She  con1nuously  explores  poten1al  career  paths  within  the  industry  to  find  one  that  she  likes.  With  help  from  her  professors,  she  is  star1ng  to  understand  her  op1ons.  However,  she  feels  overwhelmed  by  the  amount  of  training  and  cer1fica1ons  required  to  be  employable,  and  is  afraid  of  inves1ng  so  much  1me  and  money  into  a  career  path  she  does  not  fully  understand  yet.

Vidya,  18  1st  year  BCS  student  at  a  t3  college  in  Mumbai,  India

Paul  is  the  only  son  in  his  family.  Proud  of  his  good  grades  and  his  love  for  computers,  his  parents  have  made  an  effort  to  ensure  Paul  anends  a  private  high  school  with  a  voca1onal  emphasis  on  IT.  Paul  is  grasping  programming  concepts  very  quickly  and  is  interested  in  exploring  poten1al  career  paths  in  IT.  His  main  goal  is  to  get  a  scholarship    to  go  to  college  in  London  and  start  working  part-‐1me  as  a  developer  as  soon  as  he  can.

Paul,  17  11th  grade  student,  emphasis  on  IT  Leeds,  UK
