Aaron has Autism and ADHD. He LOVES hockey. Regular association level hockey was too intensive for him. With MN Special Hockey he is excelling! He was voted “most improved” player twice and has been scoring goals almost every game. He moved from the “C” line to frequently playing on the “A” line and he is so proud of his accomplishments.

For 5 years Miley watched as her brother played hockey, wishing to be part of the game. She asked her mom repeatedly, “When is it my turn to play hockey?” Her mom was afraid the pace was too fast and didn’t sign Miley up, that is, until she came across MN Special Hockey. Upon learning that it’s now her turn, Miley replied with an excited, “YES, hockey!” and several fist pumps. Early on, being pushed in a chair allowed her to be a part of the game and love every second. She’s now motivated to try skating and often says, “I’m going to be a better skater than my brother.” She also now has common ground with girls in class that play hockey. They talk about hockey, and even invited her to be an honorary team manager.
