MSF REPORT (17TH-19TH FEBRUARY 2017)

The History of MST (Malaviya Sports Tournament) dates back to the year 2007, when

the event made a kick start with 300 Participants and 12 teams from well reputed and

prestigious institutions of India like IITs, NITs, BITS Pilani and DCE. The tournament

has bred a sports culture in the Institute and the essence of the fest lies in sharpening the

sports talent and creating the culture of sports in a technical Institution. The sport

activities since then have gathered full support from faculty and administration. With a

participation of over 1128 students and more than 32 colleges last year in MST’16, the

authority and the student committee took this opportunity to rename Malaviya Sports

Tournament (MST) as Malaviya Sports Festival (MSF). MSF is proud of the fact that it is

the only sports festival of the country, to develop the sports culture in the institute and to

nurture a new generation of athletics striving to excel in their chosen games. The MSF’17

is a dream of the team that wants it to make it true. It stands as one of the best sports

tournament of Rajasthan hosted by MNIT Jaipur and its 10th edition was scheduled from

17th – 19th February, 2017.

It was a three day sports extravaganza. The grand opening of the Fest began with the

Inauguration Ceremony. The Ceremony was graced by the presence of Mrs Vandana Rao

Carval, our Chief Guest, a former athlete and Olympian who is an epitome of human

values and ethics. The Guest of Honor, Mr. Virender Poonia who is a discus thrower was

an incredible source of inspiration. Our Presiding Guest and Director, Prof Uday Kumar

Yaragatti, was a constant source of encouragement during the entire event. The

Inauguration Ceremony was followed by a musical performance of singer Simranjeet

Singh.

Day 2 marked the staging of a series of events like Nukkad, Flash mob, Stage Play and

EDM by astounding International DJ – DJ Disto. Simultaneously informal events zone

was also set up wherein the crowd was continuously enjoying Mini Militia, Beach

Volleyball & Kabaddi throughout the day.

The event concluded on the third day where all the dignitaries graced the prize

distribution ceremony, including the invited guest of Honor Mrs. Shiba Maggon, a

National Basketball Player and the coach of Indian Junior Team for basketball. The event

was concluded with the hilarious performance by famous comedian Angad Singh Ranyal.
