Message from the Head of Department of Applied Psychology The primary focus of our faculty members’ research and teaching is

to create understanding and to apply psychological principles topractical problems in different life domains, with research focus onPositive Occupational Health Psychology, Human-computerinteractions, and Social cross-cultural Psychology. The Departmentprovides a variety of fundamental psychology courses, includingsocial psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology,personality and individual differences, etc.

Graduates from the Department are expected to have solidunderstanding of the discipline of psychology and also have thecompetence of applying psychological knowledge and skills in theworkplace and further studies.

Focuses on the core elements of modern work and organizational psychology.

聚焦于现代职业与组织心理学的核心要素。

Offers applied psychology courses including personnel psychology, organizational psychology, occupational health psychology, psychology of IT in the workplace, and interpersonal skills in organizations.

涵盖人事心理学、组织心理学、职业健康心理学、工作场所IT心理学、

组织中的人际沟通等应用心理学课程。

Inculcates in knowledge and skills in coaching and counselling, conflict management, and social problem-solving & decision-making in the workplace.

传授职场中的辅导与咨询、冲突管理、社会问题解决等知识与技能。

The Faculty 师资阵容

The staff involved in teaching the MSc programme are mainly full-time faculty members at Lingnan University. They have extensive teaching, professional and research experience in their fields.

由具有丰富教学、专业实践和科研经验的岭南大学全职教师授课。

Most of them obtained their PhD from universities in Hong Kong, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, and have been involved in teaching and research in these countries for many years.

Mode and Duration授课模式及学制

This programme requires the completion of a total of 30 credits, including ten courses (5 required and 5 electives).

学生须修满30学分,包括5门必修课程和5门选修课程,共10门课程。

The teaching pattern is normally a 3-hour lecture/seminar per week per course. On-site visits and potential internship will be organized.

授课模式为每周每门课三小时授课/研讨,部分课程包括现场考察及实习机会。

Non-psychology degree holders are required to take a pre-entry course which is normally conducted before the commencement of the MSc programme.

非心理学学位持有人须于项目正式开始前,修读先修课程。

Tuition Fee (2018-2019): HK $ 145,000; a number of student scholarships will be provided.

学费:2018-19年度,145,000港币;有数个奖学金名额。

The duration for the MSc programme is one -year full-time study or a two-year part-time study.

一年全日制课程或两年兼读制。

Entrance Requirement录取要求

A bachelor’s degree with a good record from a recognised tertiary institution;

具相关专业大学本科学位;

An applicant whose degree is not from a tertiary institution in Hong Kong or an English-speaking country should obtain a minimum score in TOEFL, IELTS, or CET-6;

有良好的英语水平:若申请人从非香港或英语国家院校取得本科學位,须提交托福(TOEFL)成绩550(笔考)、213(机考)或79(网考)以上,雅思(IELTS) 6.5以上

Scholarships in the form of waiving the tuition fees will be awarded to three best candidates in every academic year. Scholarships with HK$2,000 each will be awarded to four students with top GPA.

• attend at least 80% of the lectures for each course;• complete and pass ALL the required courses; • obtain 30 credits with a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.67 (equivalent to B-) or above

• The performance of participants in each course is assessed by examinations as well as other assessment methods, such as individual and group assignments, group projects and presentations.

• The assessment process will follow the general grading policy as prescribed by Lingnan University for post-graduate studies.
