How is the course assessed?
The course is 100% continuous assessment. Group and
individual written assignments assess each module
followed by the business research project in the third
semester.
How will it help my career?
The course develops future executives in both public and
private sector organizations. The course material takes a
broad, cross-sectoral and international approach.
Accordingly, as management concepts and frameworks
are generic and applicable across all contexts and sectors,
this course prepares graduates for a wide range of roles

What qualifications will I receive?
Successful learners will graduate with an MSc in BusinessManagement.
Candidates who successfully complete the taughtmodules may elect to graduate with a PostgraduateDiploma or to carry on and complete the BusinessResearch Project for the award of an MSc in BusinessManagement.
This qualification is a nationally and internationallyrecognised qualification from the National University ofIreland. It is a 90 credit, level 9 (masters) on the NationalFramework of Qualifications

The MSc in Business Management for non business
graduates is for those who wish to pursue a career in
business and management.
The programme assumes no prior knowledge of business
and brings students on a high growth learning experience
including an in-depth knowledge of up to date relevant
theory and concepts. Students develop an enormous array
of analytical, conceptual, technical and social skills. They
learn a broad range of business and management topics
and develop their understanding of the application of
these concepts through group and individual assignments.
The programme is available as both a full-time and a
part-time course of study.
Who is this course for?
entry requires a minimum 2.2 grade, honours (level 8)
degree in a non-business discipline. In exceptional
circumstances consideration will be given to candidates
without a primary degree, but who have 10 years relevant
work experience, 3 of which must be in a management
position. Consideration will be given to students who have
a minimum 2.2 honours degree in a business related
discipline where the degree was completed at least 5 years
previously, where the business components were minors,
or where the masters content differs substantially from
the applicant’s degree content.

How is the course delivered?
12 month full-time or 24 months part-time.
Modules are delivered over two semesters
(September – May). A business research project is
conducted during May and August.
Teaching is through lectures, presentations and
intensive workshops in 17 blocks of two full days
followed by less structured supervision contact
over the third (summer) semester. Part-time
students attend for 9 x 2 days per year over two
years. There are three broad workload categories:
a) lectures on advanced content with both
required and self-directed reading material
b) Individual reading assignments to develop and
assess students’ knowledge and critical thinking
skills
c) Group projects to develop and assess team
work, application, and problem solving skills.
Individuals and teams work on projects between
classes. each learner conducts an individual
business research project. Attendance minimum is
80% of classes.
Student engagement in the process is key, and
classes utilise considerable interaction between
student and teaching staff. Blended learning
technology is the norm.
