What is Dual Enrollment (DE)?

How do students qualify for DE?

● Be enrolled in a MA public secondary school (grades 9-12)

● Must be 16 (or a junior in HS), but some schools allow waiver for underage students

● Meet all course prerequisites ● Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (some

schools will work with student if there is a strong counselor recommendation)

● Take and pass any required placement testing

When do students attend?

● Either part time in the AM or full time in the AM & PM

● Part Time: Take two courses○ one MWF and one TR

● Full Time: Take four courses○ Build your own schedule

● Can take one course, but must be outside of normal high school hours

What is usually the biggest barrier to DE at most schools?

cost of $200 per course, transportation will be provided/included in your fees.
