This will be my first year teaching at Kyrene de los Ninos, but my eighth year teaching.
I have taught in Phoenix as well as in the country Haiti.
I have taught sixth grade, junior high, fourth grade, and English to all levels.
When I was in elementary school, I went to Kyrene de los Lagos, and Kyrene de la Sierra.
I have been married for one year. I have a daughter named Lydia. She is six months
old.

Math is 90 minutes each day (60 minutes of core instruction and 30 minutes of intervention focus groups)
The Common Core State Standards: Operation and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations in Base Ten, Fractions, Measurement and Data, Geometry.
Math
Reading is 80 minutes per day Writing is 40 minutes per day Common Core State Standards: Reading standards for literature, Informational text, and
Foundational skills. Writing: Text types for purposes, Production and Distributing,
Research to build and present knowledge, Range of writing. Speaking and Listening: Comprehension and Collaboration,
Presentation of knowledge and ideas. Language: Conventions of standard English, knowledge of
language, Vocabulary acquisition and use.
Language Arts
Science units include: Scientific Method, Human Body, Earth and Space, Matter and Energy, Biomes, and Inventors
Social Studies units include: Geography, Civics/Government, American History, World History, and Economics
Health units include: maintaining personal hygiene, obtaining accurate health resources, making healthy choices, goal-setting and decision making, and human growth and development

Agendas should be signed each day Monday-Thursday
Agendas should be at school each day to record assignments (homework and unfinished work)
Homework is given Monday-Thursday Unfinished work is also considered homework Any unfinished work is expected back the next school
day or on Monday if missed on Friday Some projects are on an extended basis and
therefore will have a special due date

Students are encouraged to arrive on
campus after 7:15 am

Wednesday is Early Release each week (dismissal is at 12:35)
Art, Music, P.E., and Library are held for
45 minutes once per week
Computer Lab is held for 60 minutes once per week
