English, Grade 4
Action Plan
Long Term GoalStudents should use language with ease in
communicative situations and become more confident and a better person through learning another language.
Short Term GoalsI will implement a process that increases
work efficiency. Will identify goals for the class as a
whole that are SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely.)
Assess students outcomes every session either through a formal test or with a performance based evaluation of their accomplishment.
Instructional Strategies and Tasks
I will list all the objectives on the board for the students knowledge. This way they will know what they have accomplished.
A questionnaire will be given to gauge their views about a
lesson.
•I will plan challenging activities in class for the pupil. The activities will be suitable for a mixed ability class.
•I will try to build in opportunities within lessons to assess students’ knowledge and skills. Students will hold up all five fingers to denote confidence in a topic. This activity will be done halfway through a lesson.
Solutions to Anticipated Challenges
Challenges Boys and girls do not wish to
work together. Lack of resources in the class
for the students. Parents may not understand
the method of essay writing. If the weak students are not
able to understand a topic in one class.
Solutions•I will change my strategy of forming the groups in every lesson. Sometimes they
will even be allowed to work in pairs (with friends)
• Resources will be shared amongst the students.
•Parents will be sent a format of essay writing.
•Extra worksheets will be designed for such students and extra guidance/support will be rendered by the teacher.
