    Introduction

    This benchmark concerns about Example 6.1: Calculation of Moment resistance

    according axial forces on reinforced column [EC2, clause 6.1] of Eurocode 2 -

    WORKED EXAMPLES, The European Concrete Platform ASBL, May 2008.

    The used concrete has resistance class C30/37 with cc = 0,85 Rectangular cross-section b = 500 mm, h = 1000 mm, d = 950 mm

    Longitudinal reinforcement is defined according to the picture with class B450B

    Evaluation in Scia Engineer is divided into 4 parts (each part for different axial forces)

    Comments

    - In Scia Engineer is not defined material for reinforcement steel with fyd = 391 MPa. It is necessary to create new reinforcement steel B450B with fyk = 450 MPa.

    - The reference is for d = 950 mm. Scia Engineer calculates value d as d = 0,9h d = 0,91000 = 900 mm, because tensile reinforcement was not found in the cross-

    section

    - In national annex for 1992-1-1 is necessary set cc value to 0,85

    - In concrete solver setup it is necessary to set Buckling data checkbox to NO

    - In concrete solver setup it is necessary to set Method of check for Interaction diagram to Muy

    - Concrete cover is set on 29,38425mm because diameter of reinforcement value is

    set to 25,2315mm (because 22 50004/2315,2510 mmAs ) and 29,38425 +

    25,2315 / 2 + 8 = 50mm = d1
