Divide into your small groups. Take 5 min. reading the poem aloud using
your “6-inch voices”. Exit ticket (part #1): paraphrase the poem
in one sentence.
Discussion: p. 485 ex. B and C.
Focus Lesson: Using… Independent Practice
Silently read “Ode to My Socks” (Elements… p. 498)
Exit ticket (part #2): summarize the message.
BONUS: complete discussion questions A-C on pp. 498-9.
Homework Write an ode to an object you see every
day and love. Start by observing the object closely, making some notes about how it looks, what it resembles, and why they love it.

Homework Read another 50 pages in your I-Search
project book and take at least 10 QNQs. Due next class (40 project points).
