Classwork Policies

Plagiarism/Cheating: No cheating of any kind. Students who are caught cheating will receive

a zero for that assignment or test. Students who help others cheat by providing

answers or test questions will also face disciplinary action.

Final Exam Policy

Final Exams are worth 20% of semester grades. Exams are cumulative (covering an entire semester’s mastered content).

Exemption Policy- Students may exempt two final exams if the following requirements are fulfilled: A or B Average No more than two tardies in the course No more than five regular absences Maintain citizenship No missing assignments

Netbook and Electronics Policies

Netbook policy: Refer to syllabus Cell phones / Other Electronic Devices:

Keep them put away If you have them out, I’ll ask you to put them

away. If you do not put them away or if you get them

back out, I will take them.

Class Procedures: Before Class Leave your backpack, coat or hoodie, and

any food or drink items in your locker. Gather these items to bring to class: pencil,

paper, assignments, vocabulary book, and charged netbook. Bring a sweatshirt, sweater, or jacket that is in compliance with the Dress for Success policy if you tend to get cold.

Take care of personal needs on the way to class.

Avoid congregating outside my door. Use time before class to take care of personal needs and get prepared to learn.

procedures: Entering the classroom

Make sure you have all of your class materials with you.

Enter the room quietly. Sit in your assigned seat. Read over what is posted on the board and

prepare to work on the bell ringer. Quietly complete the bell ringer while I

take attendance.

Procedures: When You’re tardy

Knock politely if the door is locked. Enter the room quietly. Sign in on the tardy log page for your

class. Quietly go directly to your seat.

Procedures: In the Classroom Follow the PRIDE expectations. Stay out of the materials in, on, and around

the teacher’s desk unless given permission. The file cabinets are for teacher use only

unless you are otherwise given permission. Remain quiet when teacher is talking and

avoid talking over other people. Refrain from applying scented lotions, body

sprays, or perfume in or near this class.

Procedures: Working independently

Make an honest attempt at completing the work on your own.

Reread the instructions, agenda, or rubric if you are not sure what to do.

Quietly ask someone near you for clarification if you are still unsure.

Look up words you don’t understand. If you still need help, raise your hand and

wait patiently until I can help you.

Procedures: Turning in work Electronic files: Save it in our shared

Google Drive folder. Hard Copies: Quietly place it in the

appropriate tray located on the black metal cabinet at the back of the room when you have finished your work.

Note: There will be times that I ask you to hold on to an assignment. Keep your assignment in a folder and bring it back to class the next day.

Procedures: personal Needs If you have a personal need that you must

address, you may talk to me BEFORE the tardy bell rings or wait until after I have taken attendance.

If something needs to be addressed after class has started, raise your hand and let me know that you need to speak with me privately. I will address your needs once I have given the class instructions.

Hall passes will not be granted the first or last 10 minutes of class. This also applies to the three hall pass tickets given per grading period.

Procedures: End of Class Make sure all completed work is submitted

in the appropriate place. Make sure all papers on or near your desk

have been put away or placed in the trash or recycle bin.

Stay in your assigned seat until the bell rings.

Straighten your desk and push in your chair before leaving the classroom.

Preparedness

Be in the classroom when the bell rings and go to your seat as soon as the bell rings. Be dressed for success. Have all class materials with you (netbook, textbooks, paper, pencil, flashdrive, completed assignments, etc.).

Respect Listen to and follow directions. Follow all HHS and EVSC rules. Help create an environment that is conducive to learning. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

Integrity Take responsibility for your choices and actions. Take the responsibility to learn the material and show what you know. Do the right thing even if others are not.

Determination

Be willing to do what it takes to succeed. Use time wisely and be productive.

Engagement

Work on assignments only for this course during the course’s allotted time. Participate by taking notes, asking and answering questions, joining activities and classroom discussions, and completing assignments.
