SAGAR MANTHRI
I am privileged to share my interview
with a lady whose journey of cracking a
job in the Department of Posts (Central
Government of India) is inclusive of both
struggle and success. I would also say
that it’s slightly different from many
others but quite similar to lot of us.
Let me introduce Ms. B.V.R. Gowri a
Ratified Assistant Professor in the
Department of Electronics and
Communication Engineering who’s
serving Baba Institute of Technology and
Sciences for the past 8 years.
Noteworthy, she is the only lady faculty
serving so long in this institute. She has
been a part of almost 6 workshops, 3
Edu-Fairs, 2 International Conferences,
NAAC Inspection and was also an active
member in departmental activities. This
is my 14th attempt for a Government job
says, Ms. Gowri. I was qualified for Bank
of Maharashtra, Visakhapatnam Port
Trust and Clerical post for Andhra Bank.
Her success story for all the readers
You shouldn't just dream of
success, you must attain it ….

Personal Vitae :- I was born and brought up in a small village called, Chodavaram in Visakhapatnam District to Mr. B. V. Satyanarayana and B. Mani. I lost my father when I was just 5 years old, since then I was raised by my mother and Late. Grandfather, Shri. Singampalli Pydiraju. I never experienced love and caring of a father and a brother in my entire life. My struggle started when I was very young, my relatives cursed me, my sister (1 year old) and my mom for staying and depending on my grandparents. But my Grandpa was a real hero. For sake of me and my family he even left his own sons. He played a role of grandfather, father and a brother.
My early age ended with lot of struggles and hardships, whenever I thought of losing my ambitions and felt depressed, my grandpa and grand ma, (Smt.Kantham) motivated and inspired me a lot. After completing my B.Tech I was placed in a software company called “Winning Streak Solutions”, but a sudden marriage of mine made me to quit my offered job. But, soon my marriage too broke off and my life became more hell because now I had to look after my daughter, mother, sister and my grandparents.
All my relatives snapped off relations with me. I want to share the fact that at that stage I used to be very under-confident about my chances of life. I am sharing these thoughts so that all of those who are somehow feeling the same as I had once been can come out of it and not repeat the mistake which I did. But my close friends and colleagues stood as a strong wall and motivated continuously. Now, my life has come to an edge where my hardships can bear fruitful results. I will be thankful to my grandparents and friends forever.
My LIFE has become
more HELL, but now my
hardships have ENDED
Sagar: When did you come to know about your inner strength? Gowri: In the year, 2014 I was attending an Edu Fair at the Gateway, Visakhapatnam. During that time Mr.G.S.N.Raju, the then Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University interacted and advised me to complete my Ph.D. It was for the first time I interacted with such a big personality. Sagar: How attached are you to BITS Vizag? Gowri: BITS means a lot to me. In fact it gave me a second life. During my tough times the college supported me a lot.
My financial aid was Smt. Sri Lakshmi, (our beloved Secretary Mam). She protected, advised and cared me as a mother does to her daughter. She understood the pain and agony which I went through my life. Even today I am ready to serve the Institute when required. I will definitely miss this Institute. Sagar: What is the best thing about BITS Vizag? Gowri: BITS gave me an opportunity to meet with some of the best colleagues, Govt. Officers. Right from the peon to the management all
helped me to change my life. Finally, the students were very obedient and I will miss them. Sagar: Tell me something about your Department staff? Gowri: My departmental staff is like my family they cooperate on field and off field; they wiped off my uncomfortable and excruciating moments by cracking jokes, pulling legs, even times when I was having ill health. They guided & cared as if I was their sister. I am very thankful to all the faculty member for being and treating me as a family from times.
“Make your own future. Nobody is going to give it to you”
“You have to work for your dreams. There is no guarantee for
success. In order to win big you have to take calculated risks”
Sagar: What were you like in high school? Gowri: I was very obedient and reserved kind of girl. May be my grandfather raised me in such a way. Sagar: What was your all time highest achievement? Gowri: I have not achieved, what I wanted, I am desperate to crack Groups and Civils. And if you still want to know, then, My 1st achievement was, in the month and year of March 2003, when I stood Mandal Topper in my 10th standard. Overnight I became popular, as all local newspaper and news channels published my photographs and credentials. My grandpa was very proud of this achievement. My second achievement was getting ratified from JNTU Kakinada and my third one is cracking a job in the Department of Posts, recently, which was a dream job for me because it justifies my education Sagar: Many colleagues have a strong doubt on your personal life,
what is your answer to them? Gowri: Every human being has his/her personal life. Try to figure out the good things from them, try to accept facts. “Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools and accepted by stupids.” Only time will answer them. Sagar: What is your mother’s role in your life? Gowri: My mom, Smt. Mani is not just an ordinary mother. She’s a Goddess for me. She sacrificed whole of her life to give me the “Best”. Still today, she takes care of even minute things of mine. As of now she’s taking care of my 5 year old daughter. Sagar: Have you ever encountered obstacles in the path of your success? Gowri: My biggest obstacles were Time, Money, Career and Responsibilities, but I made my hurdles as my Goals and achieved quite some of them. Sagar: Who’s your favorite hero or role model and why? Gowri: Obviously! My grandpa .He dedicated his entire life for my benefit.
Sagar: What is your strength and weakness? Gowri: My “Self Confidence” was my strength. And my weakness is “Astrology”. I know how much money I have spent behind astrologers just to know about my good and peaceful days. Sagar: Who inspired or motivated you the most? Gowri: I. My grandpa always inspired me to stay “Independent”. II. Secretary. Sri Lakshmi mam’s “Daring and Dashing” attitude. She being a lady can control any situation and can speak with any personality without any hesitation. III. Shri. Suresh Betha of Drona Consultancy motivated me “not to keep calm but fight against injustice and crime”. He taught me legal lessons which are very useful to an independent lady. IV. Mr. M.V.S.Prem Sagar’s “Commitment” towards work and persons. If he trusts and likes a person he can go to any extent for his/her goodness and benefit.
My Daughter’s name is
H I T A . Nothing is more important then

MANOJ BABU LIVE PRINCIPLED …
Mr. P. Manoj Babu is a very dedicated and hardworking person that every BITSIAN is aware of. His continuous service to the Institute has earned a positive vibe not only in his department, but also in the college. He has successfully driven 4 batches since his joining in BITS Vizag. He is currently in the verge of submitting his M.Phil.
A proven Lecturer, good motivator and an active person in the Department of Management, who inspired many of his colleagues and young students. Coming to his personality, Mr. Manoj is a very calm going, self portrayed leader, who is very straight forward. He strongly believes in Swami Vivekananda and follows his principles strongly. He was born to Shri. P.Rameswara Rao and Smt. Kondamma on 1st of August, 1984. He is followed by a Younger Sister, Dr.P.Madhuri (A successful Cancer Specialist) and a Younger brother, P.Madan (HR, in K P Logistics). His early childhood grew with disasters, disappointments and failures due to family backgrounds. Soon, after his intermediate he took life challenging and career seeking him. with each day expecting to be a “New”.
Even today he is working hard for his extended work responsibility but there is no change in his lifestyle. It is almost 6 years I have been working with him and during this tenure I never saw him taking rest, be it his home or college. “Baba” what I call him is a good son, caring brother, loving husband and a responsible father too. This young man never deviated from these unique roles of his life. Whenever I feel very low I immediately rush to Manoj and he with his motivational words and inspiring thoughts make me strong. While being with him I asked many a question which I think the readers should know about HIM
Sagar: We come to know that you are very serious with your work? Where do you get this genes from? Manoj: Not from either of my parents, but I learnt from Adolf Hitler - “If you win, you need not have to explain...If you lose, you should not be there to explain! This motivated me a lot to work serious. I feel personally responsible whenever someone assigns me a task. Because a task assigned to me has lots of trust and I don’t like to break that “Trust” and work seriously to complete it. Sagar: What kind of obstacles you face while delivering a lecture and how do you overcome it? Manoj: I haven’t come across such kind of obstacles while delivering a lecture as of now. Sagar: What were you like in high school? Manoj: I was an average student during my schooling.

Sagar: If you were God for a day, What changes will you bring in? Manoj: I don’t want to change anything. God can give the best change. He knows what, when and how to bring change. Sagar: Tell us something about your daughter and spouse? Manoj: Relation with my daughter is amazing, no words or phrases can explain this feeling. As far as my wife is concerned, she is very cooperative. Sagar: You are a great follower of Swami Vivekananda, when and what inspired you? Manoj: After Intermediate, I was a complete drop out, because I hate studies. I became very dull and in-active. Attending classes, exams, reading, and writing was not my cup of tea. I had undergone criticism wherever I went. During those days I came across a book of Swami Ji, and I started reading it- while reading a life story, it motivated me in such a way that I changed completely. The story, Once, Swami Vivekananda was returning after visiting a temple and a troop of monkeys started chasing him. To save him- -self Swamiji started running. The monkeys also chased him aggressively. Suddenly a stranger came in front of Swami ji, he witnessed the scene and called out—Stop. Don't run. Face the brutes. Vivekananda heard it, turned back and stared at them boldly. The monkeys got confused; they stopped harassing him and went away

Sagar: Your most happiest and saddest moments of your life, and how did you took them? Manoj:- - Most happiest moment- I am still waiting for it. -Saddest moment- Being away from my parents. Sagar: What is the piece of advice you would like to give your colleagues? Manoj: Every penny what we are receiving as a compensation is a sweat of someone. It is our mean duty to justify that compensation. Sagar: What are the roles you portrayed in BITS College. Manoj: I joined BITS as an Assistant professor in the year 2012. After joining here I was given the responsibility of heading as a Training and Placement Officer, Press and Media relations, Public Information Officer and In charge HOD of MBA.
Sagar: Message to your students…! Manoj: Experience is the first master. Meet the master first. Sagar: As a teacher what do you want to achieve? Manoj: A good teacher, “Teaches” and an excellent teacher, “Inspires”. I want to be a good inspirer.

Mr. D.N . Mur ty
T H E “ M A T H S T E R ”M I N D
Mr. Murthy, HOD of Basic
Sciences and Humanity is one of
those genuinely nice people
whom I am working with past 6
and half years.
Indeed, their success is one of
Mr. Murthy’s main joys of
teaching math’s. In his mind,
one of the most rewarding
experiences is to see a student,
who may have initially been
struggling, gradually blossom
and start liking math. His first
taste of real teaching downs at a
small private degree college
near Gopalpatnam,
Visakhapatnam. Sridhar’, is
what his parents and relatives
call him is a calm going yet
active is an obedient son to his
parents. He was born on 1st of
March, 2003 in a remote village
of Srikakulam District.
His most prominent working style for which he is quite famous is to simply immerse himself in math all day and to see his students grow emotionally and scholastically throughout the year.
My father was a Teacher and Mother was a housewife. So my early education was in srikakulam. After completing my intermediate in Palakonda, I did his graduation from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam. Later I completed my PG in Vizianagaram.
His early career started at the age of 25 as a Mathematics lecturer in Murali Krishna Degree College, Visakhapatnam. In the year 2004 he joined as an Assistant Professor in the department of Basic Science and Humanities Avanti College of Engineering, Narsipatnam. He worked their till 2008 and then joined Visaka College of Engineering which is Baba Institute of Technology now
ME MY FAMILY MY EDUCATION
Sagar: How much math influenced your life? Murty: Mathematics beam both on my lifestyle and working approach. I am very calculated and apply all mathematical formulae in my day to day life. Sagar: What does BITS meant to you? Murty: I had experience of two different colleges but the atmosphere in this college cultivated a family kind of feeling. Sagar: Generally it is said that mathematics is a part of numerology, so being in a Technical organization do u believe the same?
Murty:: Hmmm, Almost! Numerology is also a science which involves numbers. May be this is the reason, many of my friends and colleagues ask me about good day or good time for the auspicious beginning of any task or buying anything new . Sagar: Other than teaching, which other profession do you think suits you the best? Murty: “Administration”, I apply mathematics there too. Ha..ha.
The period of 2000 to 2002 was most disgusting. In the year 2000, I went to Chennai to join MCA, while returning; I lost all my original certificates in Chennai Railway Station, consisting of Tenth to UG with other essential documents. I was neither able to join the college nor be employed anywhere now. I applied for duplicate certificates, but I wasn’t satisfied. But by the end of 2002, almost after one and half year, I got a courier with all my original certificates. I was very surprised and happy. I tried to reach the person who sent me but alas, it didn’t work out.
EVERY CLOUD HAS A
Sagar: How do you see students and your own sons? Murty: I see my children in my students. Both are equal for me the only difference that separates them is ‘blood’, rest is the same. Sagar: Tell me something
about your sweet family.
Murty: I have a wife,
LATHA and two rowdies
elder one is HARSHA,
younger one is
DHARAHAS
Sagar: You are almost in the verge of completing your Ph.D, what are your parents or wife’s role in this? Murty: My better half, Latha, played a crucial role in my life. If you are interviewing me then the credit goes to Latha. She is my motivator, without her I am “nothing”. Throughout my Ph.D. program she was by my side.
Sagar: What are you most interested with films or serials? Murty: I like movies and my favorite movie is ‘Annammayya’. Sagar: Tell us about your department staff. Murty: I got very good and harmonious staff in all aspects. Sagar: Tell us about your teaching style? Murty: Teaching is my passion; I cannot utilize more resources except Chalk. My teaching style is speed, but I try to catch the pulse of every student.
Sagar: Your message to students. Murty:: As an Engineering student you should promise yourself to use your knowledge and Intelligence for the welfare and betterment of the society. Sagar: Your message to new faculty members joining your Department. Murty: Teaching is professional art of applying sciences to the optimum conversion of natural resources to the benefit of the student.
As a Teacher I played a fundamental role, As a HOD I have to coordinate the entire department so I need to concrete all the ways of potholes to pave the department smooth. The role as an In-Charge of Exam Cell is very crucial and critical, imagine a student’s life is on our shoulders, as well as maintaining harmony with colleagues during exams is also very tough. Its been quite a times that I had an altercation with my close colleagues, some understood me some disliked me. Anyways, We are basically teachers so the role of a teacher is very challenging. Ultimately the role of teaching is challenging for me.
