Mr. Holmes Substitute Lesson Plans October 3, 2016 TO THE SUB: Please provide each student with a copy of this packet, which is broken down into 11 individual assignments. Mechatronics I courses (Block 2 and 3) will be required to watch Assignments #1 - #4. Mechatronics II courses (Block 4) will be required to watch Assignment #11; however, I encourage them to review previous videos to help with their current programming challenge. Students are to utilize the computers within the lab to watch several short video clips. Detailed instructions are found within each of the assignments. TO THE STUDENTS: Mechatronics I § Upon completion of the Swept Away Challenge, we will begin the unit on programming. These videos will be assigned to you as homework over the next two weeks. Please utilize this time in the lab to begin these assignments. § Today, please watch and take notes for the videos found within Assignments #1, #2, #3, and #4. You may continue watching the next assignments; however, the quiz will only cover the first 4 assignments. § Speaking of the quiz, expect a written quiz on the videos found under Assignments #1 - #4 on Tuesday. I strongly suggest taking notes while watching the videos. I will allow use of handwritten notes during this quiz; therefore, there will be no option for retaking this quiz to replace a low grade. § If you do not complete the videos during class time today, please finish your work at home, remembering to bring all notes into class in preparation for the quiz. Mechatronics II § Assignment #11 contains a brand new set of VEX Video trainer tutorials which I recently added to this document (not yet on my website). § These videos are found within the completely new “Minefield” tab in the VEX Video Trainer series. These new additions are a collection of videos specifically created to help with the programming issues you are currently having, related to the Minefield Challenge. § Expect a written quiz on the videos found under Assignment #11 on Tuesday.
