The Importance of Empathy

• It is the ability to understand how another person feels and to care about it, to walk in another's shoes.

• It’s a foundation for acting ethically, for good relationships of many kinds, for loving well, and for professional success.

• Children learn empathy both from watching us and from experiencing our empathy for them. When we empathize with our children they develop trusting, secure attachments with us.

• It is the core, the most important of all human traits; without empathy you cannot really have meaningful relationship.

Empathy is the cornerstone of establishing and maintaining successful relationship
