The efforts of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Emirates Airline and Group, to promote professionalism in the transport and aviation industry, have been recognised with the fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). Mr Cyril Bleasdale, the institute's Director General, presented the certificate of fellowship

to Sheikh Ahmed.

Sheikh Ahmed is Patron of CILT -UAE council which has Maurice Flanagan, VC & MD Emirates Group as Chairman and Mohammed Alkhaja as President..

CILT Certificate in Logistics and Transport

The course is aimed at those employed within the sector e.g. new or existing [and aspiring] supervisors and first line managers to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence in logistics, transport and supply chain management.

CILT Certificate in Logistics and Transport Basic knowledge is provided by means of 3 core

modules that all students study:Managing the logistics and transport environmentCustomer services and quality management Managing resources

Students then choose one elective from a group of 4 comprising:Freight OperationsFleet ManagementPassenger Transport

Warehousing and stores operations Port Management Other modules on request

CILT Diploma in Logistics and Transport

The Diploma builds on knowledge gained from studying the Certificate course or from the working environment.

Its at a higher level than the Certificate hence its aimed at those in middle management wishing to develop a strategic view of logistics and transport and be capable of reviewing and modifying operational activities

CILT Diploma in Logistics and Transport

It is a modular course comprising 6 units all of which have to be studied.

Managing Transport Logistics Operations, Resource Management Transport Economics & Finance Supply Chain and Logistics Inventory Management Passenger Transport

CILT Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transport Aimed at new / aspiring senior managers and

leaders. Providing strategic management and decision making/ planning skills.

Comprises four core Units:

Strategic Management and Leadership, Strategic Environment for Logistics/Transport

Organisation Level Planning in Logistics and Transport

Research Methodology: includes a work based project.

Education and Training

CILT courses and qualifications are accredited locally and International and our aim is to maintain high standards, quality and professionalism.

Teaching materials are provided upon accreditation for Certificate and Diploma Courses

Education and Training

All courses are taught locally using international teaching materials which are customised to local environment.

Examination papers are moderated by CILT International - as are 25% of the marked exam scripts to ensure quality assurance and control to international standards.

Education and Training

Students must be Affiliate members of local CILT Section and be on International data base

Certificates are provided on success With 3 years experience students of Certificate

and Diploma can apply to upgrade from Affiliate to Member and use MILT after name.

With 5 years experience and success at Advanced Diploma students can upgrade to Chartered Member CMILT
