The Asphalt and liquid products developed in the 90’s distinguish itself by the ease

of use, low labor skills requirement and low cost of equipment (tools) required.

Most of all: these products conforms to all SABS specifications laid down by

authorities for hot asphalt.

In most instances road maintenance are done by road teams using concrete

mixers, bitumen (heated or cold), sand and stone that is carted to different sites,

some very remote. The process requires 12 to 15 laborers to mix their product on

site. The process is lengthy, uneconomical and in many instances prevailing site

conditions lead to poor quality work. Material waste along the road is inevitable

resulting in the contamination of the environment along these roads. We don’t do it

this way, with the MPM way the above can be done more effective by a team of

four people with no product waste and contamination.

MPM CONSTRUCT is passionate about skills transfer and saving our customers

money, therefore we encourage a process where we train and certify the In-house

Maintenance Staff of the customer to do the application of our products

themselves. To ensure constant quality a quality control process is then

negotiated between the customer and ourselves.

The Manufacturing plant is situated to the West of Pretoria with plans to expand

manufacturing plants under license across Southern Africa.

WATERPROOFING

MPM Roofseal is a unique composite of anionic emulsion interacting with super

fine carbonated ionized particles creating a chemical bond that is resistant to

UV light and abrasion.

MPM Roofseal is elastic and can stretch and moves with surfaces once

applied. MPM Roofseal is effective as a waterproof sealer on concrete, bricks,

galvanized steel, asbestos, asphalt, wood and several other synthetic

products, sealing of dams, pools, canals and compacted earth can also be

done.

MPM Roofseal is also a cost effective replacement for damp course on brick

walls and floors.

MPM Roofseal can be used with or without membrane, membrane is however

essential when sealing two materials with different expansion rates.

All MPM products are environmental friendly and can be used for Koi/fish

ponds and animal drinking areas.

EXPANSION JOINT REPAIR

Concrete slabs are arguably the most important part of any building.

Joints cause a problem on concrete slabs and parking areas where slabs are

sealed with asphalt.

Conventional joints have zero resistance to impact caused by daily use and are

prone to cause huge waterleaks.

MPM COROJOINT solves all these problems.

ROAD SURFACE REPAIR

Bitumen /tar roads, pathways and parking areas are eroded by tire friction,

vehicle axle overload, heat of the sun and rain. These surfaces are seldom

maintained therefore roads form cracks, once water starts penetrating these

cracks it leads to the formation of potholes. Continuous water accumulation

in the pothole then start to erode the base layer of the road, a catastrophic

collapse of the road surface can occur:

The images above illustrate what can happen when a road is eroded and show the kind of damage that will occur over time in the road surface.

The popular belief that potholes can be permanently repaired with relatively inexpensive concrete is a fallacy. Due to the vast different physical characteristics of concrete and bitumen and mainly due to the rigidity of concrete compared to the more "flexible" bitumen, concrete actually assists in the destruction of the road surface around the repaired pothole. MPM COLD ASPHALT and other MPM products have the same physical properties as bitumen and will therefore not cause any erosion. In fact it binds so well with surrounding

material that it will strengthen the area around the repaired pothole.

ROAD CRACK REPAIR

Where no potholes are yet visible but where the surface starts cracking and the

surface are full of loose stones, preventive maintenance must be done to

prevent further surface degeneration such as potholes and sub surface

collapse.

The road surface would typically display “crocodile skin” crack formation and

parallel cracks.

The repaired surface will be ready for traffic after two hours and will cure

overnight. Full strength is reached after 7 to 28 days.
