Movie Project Proposal Sam Towner and Mat Corderoy

For our short film, we have decided to undertake a heist.

Story line:The planning for the heist will begin in Sam’s room. The plan will be to “steal Oliver Heldens Decks”.

We know that Oliver Heldens is unlikely to be in a sports hall in West Kingsdown, so we have planned the storyaround a family event he is DJing at. He has dropped his decks off at the back off the sports hall, and headed

back to get the rest of his gear, such as lights, stands, and smoke machines. Our plan is to steal his decks,open them in the boot to look at how beautiful they are, and head back to Sam’s room before he returns to thesports hall. Unfortunately, we have been snaked and there is nothing but a teddy bear in the decks. We canonly infer he had knowledge of the heist. When we get back to Sam’s house, we need to burn the evidence,and head back to college and act that nothing had happened prior to our late arrival — we were stuck in traffic.

Music:As this is a heist, we will create intense music, to set the mood. The music will crescendo at numerous

points in the film to indicate a build in anticipation. At comical points in the film, we will design light hearted andfunny music. Additionally, when we see the decks behind the sports hall, we will use holy music, as a comicalpoint in the film, but also as a sense of achievement.

Sound Effects:Most of our sound effects will be soundscapes. We will use foley for walking, opening and closing doors

and hatches. We will also record thuds, gun sounds, and the car.

Items we need to execute the film:

• The Jazz

• 2 masks

• 2 suits

• 2 guns

• Sportshall

• Deck case with teddy in it

• Planning board

Directors Cut:This will take place

after the final product. We willduplicate the film file, and talkover the film, and explain howcertain soundscapes andsongs were executed. We cantalk about camera angles and

 justify them. We will also

provide our opinion on thefinal project, and how it couldhave been improved.

Timeline Week 1 (26th – 1st) During this week we will spend the time to think of the topic for our short film. This will take time as wewant to make sure we are comfortable and fully capable to ensure that our execution will be the best

it could possibly be. Once we come up with an idea, we will be able to design a plan, such as a storyboard and necessary items and locations.

Week 2 (4th – 8th) By now we are ready to start recording, we will take a few days out of college to go of and record, itshould take some time as we want to make sure we get it perfect and that there are no mess ups. Wewill edit our scenes that we filmed and put them into a film. It is important that we have goodtransitions between scenes. Week 3 (11th – 15th)

 We can then put the film into Logic, and start to design the audio. The vocals will probably be thehardest part of the audio, so we will tackle that first. Once we do that, we will do the sound effects,with as much Foley as possible. We can then go on to designing the music. We will mix and masterthe track and export the audio to the movie. While Sam Mix and Masters, Mat will be able to start onthe script for the directors cut, enabling us to record, mix and bounce in the following week. Week 4 (18th – 20th) We will record our Directors Cut, mix, master, and then upload.
