Gray House
The children in Peter’s road didn’t like ‘Gray House’. It was the oldest building in their
village. Its little windows and old brown door were always closed. Hundreds of plants
grew in the garden and up the walls around the house. Some younger children were
afraid of the building. ‘Does anyone live there?’ They asked very quietly. ‘No,’ said
their parents.
