Light and luxury combined

The Visio 100 glass panel wall makes it possible to create a luxurious and bright space

with outstanding sound insulation performance. Transparency and aesthetics come

together perfectly in the glass wall. You can find it in noisy classrooms, luxurious party

venues and stylish meeting rooms.

Flexibility and convenience

The Visio 100’s wall panels are made up of 100mm-wide aluminium frames with double

glazing. The separate panels slide effortlessly in a track in the ceiling, allowing you to

easily and silently arrange them in numerous different ways and park them. When

arranged in line and locked they make a stunning-looking seamless wall.

Espero’s patented Quick locking mechanism guarantees easy and smooth operation.

All it takes to open or close the hermetic sound-insulating seals is a 180-degree turn of

the control lever. For even greater ease of use, there is the semi-automatic version,

which locks into place with the press of a button.

Sound insulation

A wall that creates a sense of open space, while preserving privacy. This is thanks to

the extending hermetic seals at the top and bottom of the panels, sound-insulating

rubber seals along the sides, and the various glass thicknesses and compositions. It

gives the Visio 100 wall a sound insulation rating (Rw) of between 42 dB and 50 dB.

One Life project – Antwerp, Belgium

While closed, this wall creates a sound-insulating space for

meditation or yoga. When the wall is opened, the space can

accommodate presentations or other classes.

Finish options

We can customise the glass finish to your ideas and requirements for the rest of the

space. Echo the style of the interior with an etching, print or foil finish on the movable

wall, or go for frosted glass. There is also the option to install horizontal blinds in the

Visio 100’s flexible wall panels. Ideal for meeting rooms. If you want maximum

transparency, choose the optional telescopic wall jamb, the end piece of the wall that

is mounted to the structural wall.

Two versions:

1. Visio 100: light and modern. The standard Visio 100 version comes with fully

transparent glass and anodised colourless aluminium cassettes, giving the wall a

modern sleek look. The cassettes contain the structure and control mechanism. As

an extremely attractive extra option, the cassettes and aluminium wall profiles can

be supplied in the colour of your choice. We can supply panels with a special

purpose, such as doors, with a wood finish of your choice.

2. Visio 100 Elite: unique and top class. The luxurious version comes with a coated

frame on the inside of the glass. As standard, you can choose the colour for the

glass frame. As an optional extra, you can also choose a colour for the cassettes

and wall profiles. Other than with the standard version of the Visio 100, the Elite’s

doors and telescopic panels also come with glass for maximum transparency. We

use solid coated glass for parts that are not transparent, such as door frames, so as

to give the entire wall the same luxurious look and ensure the panels make a

seamless whole.

Our best-selling movable wall is multifunctional thanks to its sound-insulating panels

on rollers. What seems like a solid wall at first sight turns out to be extremely easy to

slide open. Transform a large banqueting suite into multiple meeting rooms, a reading

room into a small office, or a sports hall into a night school. The wide range of finish

options lets you adapt the stylish Sonico to your needs, so that it will seamlessly blend

into any design.

Flexibility and convenience

The individual Sonico panel walls slide smoothly and silently in a ceiling track. Thanks

to the magnetic profiles they lock together effortlessly, while the aluminium frame with

steel and high-quality chipboard on both sides makes them extremely sturdy. This is

what makes the Sonico our ultimate all-rounder, with a maximum height of 12 metres

Sound insulation

Products from the Sonico range are available with sound insulation ratings (Rw) of between

38 dB and 58 dB. Sound insulation is guaranteed by extending hermetic seals at the top

and bottom of the panels, sound-insulating rubber seals along the sides, and the use of

high-grade, sound-insulating materials inside the walls.

Finish options

Sonico walls are available with any finish you want. Breathe life into a space with a stunning

print of a vast landscape, or create a warm look with one of the many veneer finishes that

we stitch, glue and lacquer in-house at our factory. How do textile, acoustic cassettes or

glass openings fit into your project? A wide choice of different materials allows you to create

the right look and feel for any space.

The challenges of a multi-purpose concert hall

PROJECT MUSIS SACRUM, ARNHEM “We are extremely impressed

with the aesthetics of the

acoustic wall”

Classical music requires a relatively long reverberation time, or echo. Pop music does not.

So, how do you make it possible for one single venue to host both classical concerts and

pop gigs without compromising on the quality of the music? This was the challenging and

fascinating question that the proprietors of the Musis Sacrum concert hall in Arnhem

faced. Acoustics consultancy Peutz teamed up with Espero to produce acoustic panels

that were able to meet all the requirements.

Bespoke solution

We managed to overcome all the challenges we came up against along the way with a

solution that is not only functional, but also good-looking. Good acoustics for pop

concerts, for example, required the back of each panel to be 70% open. We solved this by

having a wooden cassette wrapped in black fabric, which considerably improved the

acoustics. For the front side of the panels, we used black MDF. And by perforating this

surface, we managed to create a structure that is 30% open. It was quite a conundrum to

make the 300 different-size panels fit in the tight parking compartment. Varying the panel

thickness presented yet more challenges. The solution that was

ultimately found ensures a great look. When the walls are parked

in the parking compartment, the concert hall is set up for

classical music, while placing the acoustic panels in the hall will

turn it into a venue for pop concerts.

Prize-winning project

The renovation and extension of the Musis Sacrum

concert hall won the Van Dongen-Koschuch

architectural firm the NRP Gulden Feniks Prize and the

Heuvelink Prize in 2018. This project furthermore landed

the firm a nomination for BNA Best Building of Year and

the 2018 Architectenweb Award.

For pop concerts, they wanted to be able to

wheel an acoustic wall in front of the existing

walls. The panel incorporates an acoustic

(sound-absorbing) filling. The perforated MDF

finish ensures the desired effect and look on the

front side.

‘Next Level’ is the new showpiece of Gorinchem’s events centre. And next level is exactly

what this new trade fair hall is. Equipped with state-of-the-art lighting, sound and

video facilities, this hall can host any event. Espero supplied the Skyfold wall for flexible

and stylish space reconfiguration options. With a length of 15 metres, it is the longest

wall of its kind in the Netherlands.

The original movable wall

Need to quickly and flexibly reduce the size of a much-used space? You can realise

that with the Uno and Duplo wooden folding walls. Ideal for spaces in care centres and

a great value solution for community centres and sports clubs.

Easy to use

The panels of the Uno and Duplo wooden folding walls are made of FSC chipboard.

Joined together by continuous plastic profile hinges, these folding walls are easy and

quick to open and close with one single manoeuvre. A simple modification to make the

wall wheelchair-friendly is available as an optional extra. The wall panels are top-hung

in an aluminium ceiling track and always slide along the axis of the main track. When

it comes to opening and closing the wall, there are three options: from one side, from

the middle, or from either side. There is also the possibility of interconnecting multiple

walls for an even greater efficiency and space configuration flexibility.

Various versions

• The Uno is a single-walled folding partition intended primarily as a simple visual

partition.

• The Duplo is double-walled with internal steel hinge reinforcements for greater

stability. It comes with sound-insulating materials between the plates in the panels,

All-electric school building

Once the site of butter, cheese and agricultural product trading, Leeuwarden’s former

trading and weighing house is now the Netherlands’ first monumental all-electric

school building. The place is still as lively as back in the 19th century, although the

traders of those days have been replaced by 1,000 students from across the world who

take classes in small groups.

Faculty

The building was originally designed by the famous architect Thomas Romein in 1880.

After serving as the city’s library for several decades, the building was transformed into

the faculty building for Campus Fryslân, the University of Groningen’s new faculty in

the province of Friesland. The academic programme here is inspired by the United

Nations’ 17 development goals for a sustainable, fair, and safe and secure world.

Sustainable

The original entrance and hall were restored to their former glory, leaving the

monumental front entirely intact. While the building’s historic character was reinstated,

the interior has been equipped with all mod cons. The building is all-electric now, no

gas used for anything.

Movable walls by Espero

The faculty’s academic programme is varied, as is the size of the groups. With this in

mind, Espero was asked to install movable Sonico 120 walls with the highest possible

sound insulation rating (58 dB Rw) in several of the spaces. Transparent Lumio walls

were selected to partition the Living Lab off from the corridor area. Espero walls

provide flexibility and quiet spaces as and when needed.

Every wall used in this project has a Cradle to Cradle Bronze certification,

making them the perfect match with this ambitious, sustainable project.

Within seconds, the Flexio lets you create a reception area in a church or transform a

primary school’s assembly hall into multiple quiet spaces. A simple and solid wall with

minimalist design.

Convenience

The Flexio folding partition’s lightweight panels are hinged together and slide smoothly

through the custom-designed adjustable ceiling track. Arranging the panels couldn’t

be easier and quicker. As standard, the final panel of the Flexio comes as a door. The

Flexio is functional, attractive and easy to use. Optionally, we can supply the wall with

an ultra-flat floor track system. As the floor track will then support the wall’s full

weight, a load-bearing overhead structure will not be needed. Operating the wall is

Sound insulation

Each panel is fitted with high-quality FSC chipboard and filled with sound-absorbing

materials, with rubber sealing profiles along the top and the bottom. This combination

of materials produces a sound insulation rating (Rw) of between 38 dB and 46 dB.

Finish options

Flexio walls are available with many different configurations and finishes. We can

apply any colour coating to the slimline aluminium profiles of the 65mm-thick panels.

There are also numerous panel finish options, ranging from high-grade melamine, hard

plastic laminate, vinyl, digital wall prints, colour coating, or one of the types of veneer

that we stitch, glue and lacquer in our factory.

Want to divide a large space into several smaller areas without losing the sense of

space and any of the light? It’s easy with glass Visio panel walls. From big open-plan

offices to churches, Visio walls help strike a balance between open space and

partitions.

Effortless and silent

The Visio is made up of a series of tempered single-glazing panels with aluminium

sealing profiles along the top and bottom. The top-hung installation with hard plastic

bearing-mounted wheels in a ceiling track make sliding them effortless and silent.

When closed, they make a fully flat glass wall. Each panel can be locked individually,

which guarantees maximum stability.

Glass finish

All of our glass finishes are available for this wall. Etching, frosted glass, colours or the

use of prints or foil; we will apply the perfect finish to the Visio panels to make them the

perfect addition to the space. You can even choose to transform the Visio into a

whiteboard.

Quality and reuse

Cradle to Cradle is an international independent certification that requires products

and processes to be designed in an environmentally effective way without valuable

resources going to waste. Because of the growing demand for sustainable products,

C2C certification is increasingly becoming a requirement in construction projects

worldwide. Being Cradle to Cradle certified means that elements from a company’s

products and the production process have been audited for compliance with the

following criteria:

• material health

• material reutilisation

• renewable energy and carbon management

• water stewardship

• social fairness

Only products that meet these criteria are granted Cradle to Cradle certification.

Within each of the criteria, there are 5 achievement levels: Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold

and Platinum. Cradle to Cradle certified companies are challenged to pursue

continuous improvement of their products and production processes and thus move up

the achievement levels.

In our drive to ensure that our production process is as circular and healthy as

possible, we wanted a certification that matches Espero. We ultimately chose Cradle

to Cradle. As far back as in 2016, we landed Basic certification, which was

unprecedented for such a complex product. Our Cradle to Cradle Bronze certification

forces us to keep raising the bar, in all areas. We are audited every two years and are

proud to report that we are the only company in our market worldwide to have been

awarded Bronze certification for 95% of our walls.

Sound insulation.A noise-free space

There is more to dividing spaces than merely splitting up the square metres, because

you also want to achieve a certain level of peace and quiet. We therefore do extensive

research into our walls’ sound reduction performance and offer different sound

insulation ratings. A wall’s sound insulation performance is expressed as a figure, also

called the Rw rating, which specifies by how many decibels the wall reduces sound

transmission. The higher this rating, the more soundproof the wall is. These

measurements and ratings are determined in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute

for Building Physics.

Besides the Rw rating, we also use other ratings, such as DnTw, DnTA or DnTAK. More

details? We would be happy to give you a crash course in this complex subject. We

have extensive experience applying our products in all kinds of different situations and

will gladly share our knowledge to find the best suited solution together.

Different sound insulation ratings

When it comes to sound insulation, there are various factors to consider. Absorbing the

sound is an important part of it. Aside from that, the customer’s specific requirements

need to be identified and the actual space will have to be analysed first. Opting to

have a door in your movable wall, for instance, will have consequences for the

soundproofing. The structural properties of a building or a ventilation channel may

also cause sound leaks.

Based on your needs and preferences, we will select the right option for you. Each wall

has different sound insulation ratings. For the Sonico 100, for example, the sound

insulation rating ranges from 38 dB to 55 dB. The use of acoustic materials inside the

wall, rubber seals and the thickness of the glass panels gives you a wide choice of

different models, whatever the challenges of your space are.
