MOUNT OLIVET BAPTIST CHURCH

* Call to Worship:
Just like Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome did, so will we encounter seemingly insurmountable barriers in our faithful discipleship walk.
Just like they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”, so will we have doubts. Surely, it is during these times that we will
find that just as the stone had been rolled away, so will the barriers. Thank You, God, for Your faithfully giving us the assurance to sacrifice our doubts and
strengthen our faith. Let us unanimously bless God for this Resurrection Sunday. We praise You, God, because the Lord Jesus who sacrificed Himself has risen.
Glory to the Lord in the highest.
* Evocation (in unison)
Jesus, we glorify You for Your sacrifice and Your assurances towards us. It is by this that we overcome obstacles and have our faith strengthened. Only through You all
this can be done. In Your matchless name we pray. Amen.

Worship Songs
Hallelujah, You have Won the victory! Hallelujah, you have won the victory Hallelujah, you have won it all for me
Death could not hold you down You are the risen King, yeah
You're seated in majesty, And you are the risen King
Blessed Assurance (I Sing) Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long This is my story, this is my song
I sing because I'm happy I sing because I'm free
Oh, His eye is on the sparrow And I know He watches me
Dwell Among Us Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome
We invoke Your presence We lift high Your name
Dwell among us Dwell among us Dwell among us
For You are welcome in this
Lord I Lift Your Name On High Lord I lift your name on high
Lord I love to sing your praises I’m so glad you’re in my life
I’m so glad you came to save us
You came from Heaven to Earth To show the way
For the Earth to the cross My debt to pay
From the cross to the grave From the grave to the sky
Lord I lift your name on high
He Lives
I serve a risen Savior He’s in the world today. I know that He is living, Whatever men may say. I see His hand of mercy; I hear His voice of cheer;
And just the time I need Him He’s always near.
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.
In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair;
I know that He is leading, Through all the stormy blast;
The day of His appearing Will come at last.
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, Lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs To Jesus Christ the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him, The Help of all who find, None other is so loving,
So good and kind.
I Will Bless the Lord
I will bless the Lord, all my soul And all that is within me
Bless His holy name I will bless the Lord
He has done great things He has done great things He has done great things
Bless His holy name
Scripture: Mark 16: 1-4
1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.

Spiritual Growth Challenge March 2016: Sacrifice
Week 5 – Practice Dates: March 27th – March 31st
Text: “ . . . From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” (Luke 12:48, NIV)
Thought: This text is about stewardship, and yet one can argue that sacrifice is implied since we are expected to sacrifice out of our abundance. Here we are reminded that our time, talent and treasure do not belong to us alone. Blessings from God that come our way are not intended to be hoarded. The abundant blessings of God come with the abundant burden of giving. Those who are given much are challenged to give much. When asking God to give you more, you are essentially asking God to require more of you and from you. As this Lenten season draws to a close with the celebration of our risen God, let us be intentional in our approach to the management and allocation of our time, talent and treasure to the glory of the God whom we serve. Meeting God’s expectations of us in terms of sacrificial giving is a form of worship.
Task: What is the difference between being given and being entrusted? Have you been given much from God? ____ Yes ___ No
If yes, list what you have been given: ________________________________________________________________
In terms of what you have been given by God, list what you believe has been / is being demanded of you: ______________________________________________________________________
Have you been entrusted with much from God? ____ Yes ___ No If yes, list with what you have been entrusted:
__________________________________________________________________ In terms of what you have been entrusted with by God, list what you believe has been / is
being asked of you: ___________________________________________________________________
How can you improve in your management and sharing of that which has been given to you
by God and that which you have been entrusted with by God?
A Time to Pray: Thank you God for all You have given me. Thank you for all that You have entrusted to me. Holy Spirit, help me to be and remain humble. Help me to understand that what I have been given is not for me alone. Help me to accept the fact the blessings are intended to be shared. Teach me how to be a blessing to others in the ways that You intend. Help me to become comfortable with being used by You to bless others. Help me to understand the extent to which You use others to bless me. Grant me discernment that I may not miss a blessing by being out of position. I understand that I am not owed blessings. I also understand that it is an honor to be used by You, Father God, to be a blessing to others. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
