Motupipi School Cross Country Results
Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who came along to
support the children yesterday at the school cross country. The
support and encouragement certainly spurs the children along.
Congratulations also go to all the children who ran as there has
been a lot of sickness around so training has not been regular
and many ran even though they weren't 100%.
Tomorrow we have the Golden Bay Schools Cross Country at
Collingwood however the weather is bit dodgy. If the cross
country is postponed tomorrow, it will be on this Monday 10
August, which unfortunately coincides with a chess tournament
where we are sending a team of 20.
Jude & Grandma came and watched me. Everyone was cheering for me and I ran faster. I got 6th. Ryan - Rm 2 I tripped over on the long grass and it was fun. Mum and Dad came and watched me. Tilly - Rm 2 This was my first cross country it was hard going up the hill. Mum and Dad cheered me on and were proud of me. I came 4th. Bella The cross country was really hard because it was long and hilly. I surprised myself by getting 3rd. Amalie - Rm 4 The cross country was fun because I really enjoyed running. I didn’t think I’d get a prize but I got third which was exciting. Caitlin W—Rm 5

In London I went on the London Eye. You can
see Big Ben. It was held up by two poles. You
were in a big thing that was shaped as a rugby
ball. You went pretty high up and you could
see all over London.
Today I am wearing my
dragon outfit to school. My
Grandma made it for me and
one for my brothers too.
You know the difference be-
cause the other dragon out-
fits have spikes on their
backs.

I play for the Mighty Megatrons and we went pretty good. Our team passed really well. I got one goal. Hayden - Rm 4
I had my first game of miniball and I really liked it. I got two goals and I liked being able to dribble the ball. I want to get faster at dribbling. Emily C - Rm4 Yr 5/6 results

Miniball was fantastic. The other team were gracious losers. I was nervous as it was my first game of miniball. I got more confident as the game went on because everyone shared the ball. Jack - Rm1 We won 36—6. I had two shots at goal and I got one in. I mainly passed the ball when I got it because I was nervous about dribbling. Bo - Rm1

Room One Chess Championship Room One held their class Chess Tournament this week with every child playing at least two games of Chess. A tense and fast final was played on Wednesday with the whole class as spectators between Leo and Kegan. In the end the champion was Kegan. Two fabulous trophys were donated by Jo Haldane and awarded to the top boy in the class who was Kegan and top girl who was Jessie.
