Motion to approve minutes by Mr. Perkovich Second by Ms. Engelmeier Motion Passed. Office r Elections o Nominations from previous meeting were reviewed Chair Ms. Kelsey Vice Chair Mr. Turgeon Secretary Mr. Flatley o No further nominations were proposed o Motion to accept new officers by Mr. Perkovich Second by Ms. Engelmeier Motion Passed Old Business o Budget Review (Esser) Revenues ahead of 2012 by approximately $16,000 Memberships +$13K Programs +$3K Expenditures over 2012 by approximately $35,000 Acct# 6101 Fill-time Employees was incorrect in 2012 ($361) likely due to change in accounting software and staff turnover. Acct# 6104 Temporary Employees is up $12K due to high volumes of programs. Acct# 6120 Employers Contribution for Pensions is up more than $3K. o Ms. Kelsey asked that pension distribution from 2012 be reviewed to be sure it was accurate. Motion to approve the budget as is with Mr. Esser checking on pension distribution was made by Ms. Engelmeier Second by Mr. Turgeon Motion approved. o Fitness Room Update (Esser / Stelzner) Fans in the room are broken. They are moved around a lot within the room and between rooms. Broken fans will be replaced and dirty fans will get cleaned by school custodial staff. It was asked if we should put signs up saying not to move them, but they have been moved around since the fitness room first opened. Mr. Turgeon mentioned that the back/abs machine has been adjusted to make it smoother. Ms. Stelzner said she thought they shortened the cable to take up slack o CSCC Programs and Senior Center Updates (Stelzner) 672 people took part in the tax preparation program. Summer Brochure (2 nd Edition) has been released and is available online.

Approval of Meeting Minutes

Senior Fashion Show was attended by 60 people and featured eight models.

The latest Fare For All had 263 participants.o City Website Enhancement (Esser)

Content management training will be the week of May 27th. Go-live date is June 6th

o Living Social Promotion Update - Summer Membership $35 (Esser) Promo running through May 22nd (See attachment #1 below) As of this meeting, 21 deals have been sold Link to the deal online has been forwarded to City Staff and gymnastics

people who may not have received the deal. There was some confusion at Living Social and they originally set up the

wrong deal. Living Social pushed for an “admission” type of deal, as Maplewood CC was successful with that. Chris felt that something like that wouldn’t work for us since we are a different type of facility and insisted upon the summer membership.

Updates coming in every day from Living Social on how many have been sold. We will receive contact information on all the buyers so we can follow-up with them to potentially get them into full memberships.

o 2013 CAP - Centennial Room Tables and Chairs (Esser/Stelzner) Furniture to be ordered week of May 20th

Board was able to view pictures of proposed furniture (See attachment #2 below)

16 new chairs to be ordered and existing Board chairs will continue to be used.

Ms. Rother asked about getting armless chairs for larger people. Ms. Stelzner stated that we are keeping larger chairs for that purpose.

Ms. Stelzner stated that all the tables will flip down for easy storage.

New Businesso Lincoln Center Health Fair (Stelzner)

Health Fair was held Thursday, May 9th

Sponsored by Allina Health Four CSCC fitness staff were in attendance Handed out free 1-day CSCC passes and promoted the Living Social

deal as well.o Newsletter (Stelzner)

Membership newsletter complete. Cell phone “respectful use” reminder

Approximately $200,000 earmarked for CSCC in the Bond Pool mechanical needs, namely pump

Summer hours go into effect after Memorial Day M-F 5am – 9pm

Sat-Sun – 7am – 6pm

Reminder of the Living Social Promo (Esser) Will go up to regular $70 price after the promo expires.

CSCC will again be included as an option for those who purchase a Summer Pool Pass.

SSP has changed from the old patches to new laminated cards.

Kaposia Days (Lally) Hoping to have a presence in the parade again this year.

Parade date is June 28th

CSCC is not currently signed up. Board members to let Ms. Lally know by June 1st if they can participate.

Other Businesso Mr. Perkovich complimented the staff for promoting CSCC.o Mr. Perkovich and Ms. Rother were introduced as neither had been in

attendance at a meeting at the same time until present.o Mr. Esser discussed Silver Fit / Silver Sneakers

Exploring Silver Sneakers fitness class reimbursement, as we have two silver sneaker certified fitness instructors.

If accepted, CSCC will be reimbursed the cost of the instructors.o Mr. Esser discussed new ADA laws that will impact our pool

New Federal law will require pool lifts for accessibility starting in 2014 Looking at portable and installed solutions Analysis being done by Buildings and Grounds Dept. This is due to multiple lawsuits, primarily against hotel chains and also

includes possible drain issues. Pool lifts are approximately $6,000 each. We cannot do a zero entry ramp due to the pool being used for swim

meet competitions.o Ms. Kelsey asked for clarification that CSCC is paying for pool operations in

summer months and not the school. Mr. Esser confirmed.
