Adnan,  13  years  old  Syrian  refugee  in  Dohuk,  northern  Iraq:  “I  was  in  the  6th  grade  when  we  had  to  flee.  However,  here,  Sorani  is  spoken.  This,  along  with  the  difference  in  the  educa>on  system,  has  made  it  difficult  for  me  to  con>nue  my  educa>on.  “

Teachers  need  to  be  trained  in  two  languages  and  to  understand  the  needs  of  second  language  learners
