Dear Parishioners,
Well Pope Francis has come and gone – and what a fantastic visit! His visit included the Congress and U.N. but also – he didn’t forget his pastoral role – vis-iting a prison in Philadelphia, having lunch in a Catholic Charities shelter for the homeless in Wash-ington and visiting a school in Harlem. His visit to the Cathedral for Evening Prayer (Vespers) and the celebration of the Mass at Madison Square Garden was the Church coming together to pray with the lead-ership of the Vicar of Christ. I hope his visit has enli-vened the faith of our Catholic Community and all followers of Christ. Part of our challenge is to main-tain that balance – being a people of prayer and also a people of service – helping those who live on the mar-gins. More locally – we are fortunate to have six more altar servers – four from Religious Ed and two from the School. Several servers went off to college and we need to fill the ranks. Life Chain – next Sunday, Oct. 4, from 2:00 to 3:30, Rt. 211. Car Pool option from MPB Parking Lot. More details on the Parish Website.
Yours in Christ, Fr. Fallon
