In this season of Lent, now is the time to ask ourselves whether or not we truly believe in the Gospel; and if we do, to what extent are we willing to change our prevailing habits and be more faithful to the Gospel?

Lecturas de hoy: Gn 9:8-15; Sal 25 (24):4-5, 6-7, 8-9; 1 Pe 3:18-22; Mc 1:12-15 Copyright (c) J. S. It seems fitting that our readings on this First Sunday of Lent begin with the Old Testament Book of Genesis. The book was first called “Genesis” — ΓΕΝΕΣΙΣ — in the Greek Septuagint translation, as it presents both the origin of the world and mankind, and in particular, the Hebrew people. The book in Hebrew was known by its opening expression, “In the beginning.” In today’s particular reading from Genesis 9, we hear of God’s relationship with Noah and his family. God says, “I am now establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you.” God goes on to say, “I set my bow (rainbow) in the clouds to serve as a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth, and the bow appears in the clouds, I will recall the covenant I have made between me and you and all living beings.” As is often the case, we have lost sight of the significance of the rainbow in relation to our faith. Yet it is biblically confirmed as a sign from God. Some live in areas where rainbows are common, and others in areas where they are rare. Regardless, there is something divine about a rainbow. When you look up in the sky and see a multi-colored arc looking back at you, you should be filled with wonder. It is a reminder that we live in a world of wonder, of beauty, of adventure. A rainbow should give us hope that life really isn’t just about death and taxes, but much, much more. It is a clue to the meaning of the universe and where we stand within it. Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come is an intriguing study that shows how the kingdom established by Christ in his Church is intimately connected with the kingdom of heaven. Here you will discover what the mysterious figures and images of Revelation mean. You will see how

Revelation is more than an apocalyptic vision of the "end times." It is a revelation of God as our Divine Bridegroom and the Church as his spotless Bride, forever united in a heavenly, holy, and mystical marriage that we enter into every time we celebrate the Mass. Most Holy Trinity Leadership - February 2018

On January 10th the Commissions and Pastoral Council came together in the first Leadership meeting of the year. A bountiful potluck celebration started the evening. We were also joined by our visiting priest Fr. Nono and Jesuit Novice Br. An Vu. The Commissions later met for a brief meeting to report on action items and plan next steps of their initiatives this year. The Pastoral Council works closely with each commission in guiding them to provide a common direction and focus for the Parish. Our multicultural parish community is served by many ministries and supported by the Commissions that arrive at one common goal of being a welcoming and loving parish, serving our current parishioners as well as, those we seek to attract and engage in our parish community. If you are currently serving in ministry and would like to share your vision in an area of parish life and willing to work collaboratively to make decisions, please contact Mercedes Serrano, PAR Coordinator, [email protected]. The Commissions are seeking new members to envision and set new goals for the new year. Administration Commission is continuously working on engaging parishioners with providing a better way of communication via our new myParish App and developing an informative and user-friendly parish website. The commission anticipates the launch of the website in the coming months but you can now download our new myParish App available for smart phones (iPhone and Android).

Please join us at our next Leadership Night meeting on Wednesday, February 21, 2018

at 7:00pm in Old Parish Hall.

Community Commission invites you every Friday of Lent to a soup supper at 6:00pm in the Community Room. Simple meals of meatless soup and bread will be provided by our many ministries and groups. It is an opportunity to share a meal together and remembering those less fortunate. A free will offering will be collected.

Formation Commission continues to work together in seeking best practices of a youth ministry, in that, the commission has invited Couples for Christ to next month’s meeting. CFC will share information about their youth ministry and the benefits it has to attract youth to learn about God and their faith. Worship commission works closely with the Liturgy Planning Committee in assessing the needs of the parish in the area of prayer and worship. The common goal is always to foster and promote the spiritual growth of all parishioners, enabling them to understand what it means to be a baptized Catholic Christian. The Commission will be focusing their efforts this year on music, with the goal to increase the participation of the congregation during Mass. Outreach Commission planned a door-to-door campaign with the effort to reach out to the neighboring community inviting them to come visit our parish and join us for Mass. The common goal of the Commission, Legion of Mary (English and Spanish), V Encuentro and many others is to evangelize and let our neighbors know we are welcoming parish community.

This is just a reminder that our new Parish App is available for you to download. Our new App will allow us to send you useful and important messages throughout the week regarding our parish life and events. Be sure to download the App (myParish App) to your Cell Phone. To download the App (myParish App), send a text message from your Cell Phone - Text 88202 and type APP as your text message. You will then receive on your Cell Phone a text link to

An Vu.
